At least I'm assuming these images here are of the new version as this is titled Dashlinq CarTab and I'm assuming that's what the CT stands for in the post you linked to where they said the new version will be called Dashlinq CT.
One of the main reasons I was considering buying one of these is because of it having a decent physical hardware knob for adjusting volume - the OEM one in my GT86 is incredibly hard to accurately turn when driving down a bumpy road (seriously Toyota, how did you think such a small smooth volume knob was a good idea)

I imagine there will be a few people who will upgrade to the CarTab from the original Dashlinq4. Keep an eye out both here, and on ebay and craigslist for sales of used units.

Would these work with the Toyota Fit backup cameras plug and play?

I just looked at the announcement on their forum, and it looks like the car tab is a different model, the dashlinq4 is going to get re-released with new firmware.

Hi I'm after some help installing a toyota oem reverse camera into the dashlinq system.
Has anyone achieved this with an oem product?
I can see above that people have had some success but I believe this is with non oem cameras.
I haven't fully installed the head unit yet because I'm waiting for an aerial and usb adapter to turn up.
Please see attached images (1-10)

I have a Toyota 86 with an oem reverse camera. My old head unit is a PQZ60-00537.

The wiring diagram IMG9. The CN4950 (IMG5 & 8) port looks like this is my cameras video. But I got a mulitmeter out last night and put the car into reverse and got no voltage through any of these cables.
I am I correct in thinking this is the video signal port?
I spoke with Will from Ca Fi and he suggested that I hook up the camera as in IMG10 but this didnt work either.

Im not sure if IMG4 needs to be used the wiring diagram says thats pkb is this parking brake - I still need to put a multimeter across this lead.

I've created a video tester lead IMG1 but im not getting signal so wonder if it a power related issue.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It would be great to get it working and documented for other people who have this issue.

Has anybody messed with the option to change the unit from doing a full restart (30 second wait)every time you turn the car off and instead to every 2 hours, 12 hours, etc?
It seems every other time I start the car since I changed that setting, the volume starts blasting at level 14 even if it was lower when I last shut it off.
It says it may impair the function of the radio or something, so is that how it messes it up? I just want to make sure this is the issue causing the volume acting screwy as it's nice not having to wait that 30 seconds.

Mine is set to 2 days quick boot and I think 14 is the default volume it reverts to from the firmware, this can be changed when you flash a new firmware

The quick-boot function is one of the main selling points of this unit. AFAIK, no other Android-based HU does this.

As for the volume, it's supposed to only bring it down to the default level (14, unless you edit the correct file before flashing an update) if it was higher when it went to standby, and not change it if it was lower, but it doesn't always work like that.

Another thing I've encountered is that it seems like every other update or so, the volume scale gets changed. When I first got the unit, the default volume was 9, and I tended to play it at 10 or 12. A couple of updates later, suddenly the default is 14, but it's still about as loud at 14 as it was at 9 before, and I tended to play it at 16 or 18, or occasionally 20. Then when I flashed the most recent update (which still had the default volume at 14 when I downloaded it; I edited it to 16 before flashing) all of a sudden it's back to where 9 is moderate and 10 or 12 is my usual listening volume.

It also seems to fuck with the bass/mid/treble balance--not the displayed EQ, but how loud each of those ranges are relative to each other when the displayed EQ settings are flat. I had to set the EQ bands way different from what they were before the update just to get the treble nice and crisp and the bass thumpy without being overpowering again.

I've found the same in regards to volume levels being different on each update, when I first got it 20 was a decent but loud volume yet now 20 is almost unbearably loud with the 03/18 update

I just received mine few days ago. Installed it just today. well partially. haven't read all 51 pages but got the cables!

Where did you guys mount the gps antenna? I want to do a clean job, but at the same time would like to get top notch signal.
does anyone know if there would be any overheating issues if I was to mount it above the rearview mirror (under roof)?

Mine is inside the dash, stuck between a cable bundle and the underside of the a/c vents. Works fine.

My stock GPS is almost the same as the CA FI supplied one.
The stock gps is magnetic and is positioned behind the dash on a metal brace.
If you remove the dash then the radio you will be able to see the metal bars.

thanks guys! I've looked around the vents, not sure I'll be able to fit it properly there in the way that I want. I'll try to put it behind the trim piece as Gts86.au suggested. or find some other place.
