Where did you get your helmet from? I've been looking at the Super Bandits for a while, but could never find the mirrored visor.

http://www.caranddriver.com/features...pro-airflow-sa
useful article; by the way not sure if it's accurate but it suggests that the Stig uses the Diamondback, not the Super Bandit but it's similar. ![]() I bought the cheapie in this comparo last year, the Pyrotect Pro Airflow SA2010. Very comfortable and lighter compared to the one I had for 10+ years before that, which was a Bieffe Predator SA95. I have a big head and even the XXL Bieffe felt a little too tight on me, the Pyrotect fits much better in the same size. The wise thing to do though is to go into a store and try them on in person.

HJC AR10 here as well. For us big headed folks, it's one of the few you can get in XXL size that is still Snell rated and not ridiculously $$$$

So badly do I want a Simpson Bandit/Diamondback (he's worn both depending on the season) with a mirrored visor. Can't justify spending that much on a helmet to wear in a car filled with airbags.

I use the pyrotect pro air flow or something like that. That or the $300ish hjc are the only options in my mind.

I have one - I've done a couple of ice racing events and some karting with it (no autox/DEs yet, but I only got it last winter...), and it seems reasonably light and comfortable, and the price can't be beat. Most of the logos/names on it are stickers too, so you can peel them right off if (like me) you prefer a more featureless helmet without all the names. The red "Racequip" logo just above the visor is really the only one that doesn't come off.
