Yea, I have noticed this as well. More like flicker than blink though. Wonder if people with the auto trans experience the same thing.

The TapTurn module allows you to do this and 1,000 other things. It's like $80. Direct plug in. I'm gonna get one myself soon.

It's because they don't properly drive the LED's and only use resistors.

The "boomerang" LEDs have a proper LED driver, so they don't get affected like that.

Even the boomerangs don't have drivers, but they have a bit more circuitry that doesn't allow them to drop out as easy as the DRL's.

It's a shame how normal it is for the OEM's to skimp on driving the LED's properly...

I don't see how this would allow what the OP wants.

IIRC when I was installing my Kartboy shifter I noticed a switch under the E-brake handle that turns the DRL on and off. Perhaps you can relocate that switch and keep it depressed. Thanks F1 for the pic!

My buddy has this installed and it allows him to have his ebrake on while still keeping his DRLs running. On the brz anyways. Should be the same for the frs. It does way more than just convenience signaling.

Keep in mind that will also cause other issues (disabling the "brake" light on dash, issues with the navigation IIRC, etc...)

While parked (with handbrake on), my DRLs are off. Making handbrake off first time after engine start turns DRLs on, and no matter how I put handbrake, brake, gears, DRLs never offs till engine shutdown.

Can anyone confirm the TapTurn does truly enable the LED DRLs to stay on with ebrake? If so, how do you set this?

Well, I can confirm things about Tapturn.

The product does not normally have any interaction with any bulbs other than signal bulbs, front and rear. And the front and rear bulbs per side are linked, so both fire or stay lit in conjunction with one another, per side.

I am aware of some custom installations where people have wired up other lights with TapTurn in the equation. And Ive helped facilitate that too...

Here you go, sounds like exactly what you're asking for. With this I can have DRL's on when ebrake is pulled, and when projectors are on as well.
