Me sliding on the street...
Entering a 90 degree right turn at a junction at around 25mph in 2nd gear, car started to slide immediately after I gas.
Never think that would happen even with traction and everything on. So lucky I managed to correct her instead of sliding into the curb. It rained for the first time after a while, so maybe that helped a bit. Just want to say, drive safe everyone and don't be as stupid as I was. And btw the car responds really well, the whole "action" was so smooth. Maybe it looks cool from the outside, just not knowing that it scared the shit out of me.

Glad you were able to save your car from going into the curb! It's been a while since we had rain, so be safe out there!
Make sure you have that steering wheel pointed straight when hitting the accelerator in the rain. |

Good to know you're ok. For a second there I thought I was going to have to pray for you.

(looks around) "Yeah, I meant to do that"
j/k Seriously though, be careful out there. The first rain (after a while) brings up all the oils and dirt to the surface and makes for a nice slip 'n slide.

Welcome to RWD...
My first RWD car was my manual LS1 Camaro. No traction control or stability control whatsoever. That was fun to learn on... I bought it right between fall and winter too. |

Last time it rained, I was in Socal and I lost my FR-S to a curb and a tree... keep all nannies on and definitely don't gas it around the corners.

Glad you and your car are both fine. My first RWD car was a 300zx without traction control and ABS. Modern cars these days with traction and stability control maybe safer for most people but it doesn't teach car control. The first thing I do after starting up my BRZ is hold down that "OFF" button for 5 seconds.

Definitely helped. Not only I could control my car better, but also not to panic. I remembered the first time when I slide my G37, I just went panic and stepped on the brake real hard. The car slide from the right lane all over to the left. This time when my frs slide, I decided to counter steer a tiny little bit, let off the gas pedal, and the car stayed in the same lane and get straight real quick.

This is my first RWD car. I had my car for 3 months now and have taken my car to the track twice. It helped me tremendously in terms of controlling it in different situations. Sent from my SCH-I605 |
