Hi guys I want to ask how you guys prevent rust. Those of you who have had the kit for a while now, have you had any rust issues? What do you do/use to prevent rust if your in an area where rain and snow are common. On my car the rear fenders are covered in fiber glass over the quarter panel cut sections. But the front fenders are just primed over. I was thinking about using some cosmoline 342 military grade rust protection as a resort. Also do areas where the rivits are rust?

Thank you
Hey guy,

I just did my kit. Most people if not using rivets will use riv-nuts. Im using hefty m8 size riv nuts but most people use a size m5 or m6 size. If you want a flush style you can find bolts for the riv nut holes at the hardware store or online. They just have to be the same size and it doesnt matter what you use. They have several selections for flat or angled bolts.

Rocket bunny Registry

Hello everyone, I thought right now would be an appropriate time to introduce my rocket bunny v1 build to you guys since it's slowly coming together now.

I first started out with a A/T certified pre-owned 10 series FR-S. After close to a year ownership, I decided to push my comfort zone and take a big financial loss by trading in my car for a M/T Release series 2.0 FR-S. The car and my experience haven't been the same ever since as this is my first time learning manual!

My friend and I start transferring some basic mods from my 10 series over to my new RS2 such as: coils and cat back exhaust.

The car went under the knife on September 10 2016 @ approximately 8pm PST all the way til 5am next morning.

Inspiration of this build came from the fact that I always love Kei Miura's work. I chose V1 because when I first laid eyes on the RB GT wing I just fell in love with it. The way the wing's bracket connect with the lining of the trunk to the rear bumper, how the lip kit curves and retained the aggressiveness, I just thought everything is so well articulated.

One of the final key factor that finally push me over the fence of this build was the fact that my car was vandalized on August 19 2016 by what it seems like pellet gun shot 8 times. I then decided to add my own money with the insurance's check, and the build start coming to life.

The plan was to use spacers with my stock body wheel stat: enkei rpf1 18x9.5 +38 squared wrapped around hankook v12 255 35 18. And the rest of the money I have saved up would go toward a turbo charger. However as we test fit and check everything, me and my friend realized that no way the rear could handle spacers safely, so I then decides to place an order on my rb spec wheels and waited 4 months for them to arrived.

There were lots of hiccups along the way. Those includes a horrible paint job because the owner at first seems like he knew what he was doing for $800. But instead the color didn't match fully and the texture of it does not qualify for a high quality paint job; hence he then gave me a discounted price down to $500. The next problem I ran into is on a rainy day, I passed a dip filled with water and 6/8 screws from the front lip ripped itself out of the bumper and cost damage to my lip. Luckily it happen inside my neighborhood so I was able to recover the lip and the damage was repairable.

As of now the lip is still being repair as I do not have enough time to finish it yet. I'd recommend anyone that plan to run the v1 lip to be careful, as the screws and nuts provided aren't strong enough to keep the lip attached to the bumper.

Pass forward a few months and my wheels finally arrived. They are Work Meister s13p 18x9.5f -14/ 18x10.5r -14, wrapped around Federal 595 RS-RR 245 35 18f, 265 35 18r. Another problem arrived was 1 of the lug nut stripped and I'm currently short 1 lol.

I already placed an order on JDL front over pipe combo and it should arrive next week in preparation for their turbo kit. I also have a YouTube channel updating my build so feel free to drop by if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/kennyvnguyen1290

The build is never complete as my love for the cars will continue to grow! Thank you so much for reading and hope you all a wonderful day!

My name is Kenny Nguyen, I'm from SOCAL and I drive a 2016 Release series 2.0 rocket bunny v1 FR-S.

Here is a simple mod list if anyone interested:
Suspension:
Skunk2 PROC Coilovers
Racer-X Fab Lower control arms

Switched from Perrin 2.5 non res exhaust to HKS Hi-power single exit carback exhaust

Perrin lightweight accessories pulley

Clear Valenti Revo Jewel LED tail lights

Nigel JDM fog lights wrapped w gold wraps and 3k LED bulbs

Switch back turn signal (from 86speedfactory?)

Speed hunter x Takata green tow straps

I remember coming across a video of you installing your Valenti Revo CR-2's on YouTube. I had just ordered a pair and was doing research on how to re-pin them.

Crazy to find you and your RS 2.0 build on here! Keep up the progress!

I want to get the Full GReddy X Rocket Bunny 86 Ver.1 kit with the wing someday. My only issue is finding a place to get it professionally done. I know a lot of people done it themselves ... but I want it to come out look right.
