Causes exhaust and intake valves to overlap at idle so that they're both open at the same time. It causes a rough idle which makes the car sound like it has racing cams at idle.

And yes, it's compatible with spooky rockers

I haven't had a chance to look at it again. I will give it another shot after work today. I now understand why some people were unhappy with how long the oft takes to flash. It is a slow process making small changes.

DIY Rom tuning for exhaust pops and backfires W/ romraider

Was his car tuned for those cams? It's possible to tune out the lobe on cams just as we are trying to put it in. And it's definitley possible to induce timing overlap with our vvt system I was able to to it, just not at true idle.

Edit tune out timing not lift

Would it be possible to set it up in such a way that the exhaust popping only occurs above a certain rpm? ie 4500?

I haven't personally done it but only dropping the timing above 4500 should do the trick.

yes you just set them at the rpm you want when adjusting the map in tunerpro. mine are between 3-7k

Mine is set between 3800 and 5k. It got rid of the popping while cruising on the freeway.
