And you got to be honest that their cash cows are the camrys and imprezas anyway... they are probably happy with this "side incomes" coming from sales and commissions of building 86es....

I think they both can cooperate because 86 is not similar to any of their current car lineups. But how long can this cooperation last and whether there will be continuing lines of 86, only time will tell.
I think it may end up like the last generation of Celica where they unfortunately stop production and discontinue the vehicle due to "not enough sale"

Better grab one while they are still producing them

I've been thinking about this question. I switched back to stock all-seasons for the winter, and it's actually a lot of fun feeling the rear move around on the street. Maybe Tada-san was onto something with these Prius tires...

At the track though, I definitely like having the additional grip of a stickier tire.

The stock tires are descent..they aren't the stickiest out there.. But they are capable of tires. They are michelin tires used on the more "sporty" Prius..
They aren't Prius tires..

Grab 2 - 1 to drive, 1 to keep as mint condition collectible.

Do you really think an SRT-8 can compete in anything other than a 1 lap competition?

Based on my limited courses on law and ethics: it depends. (That's the official lawyer answer).

Ownership of the units (burgers/cars) is in favor of the manufacturer (Five Guys/Subaru) until they get transferred to the next owner (Me/Toyota) following inspection. I get a feeling that these cars leave the factory and go straight to dealers/shipping containers so maybe the parent company of Toyota never takes ownership of GT86s & FRSs.

Not sure how that relates to your 'point'. I guess your intent is 'who owns the design?'. I can't tell Five Guys to stop making burgers because I bought them per my specifications and nobody else should have them, but that's implied in the 'contract' we agreed to.

We simply don't know what 'contract' Subaru & Toyota have together, somewhere out there exists a clear definition of who owns the design of every part of this car and should the deal be broken who is permitted to use said designs under what conditions. There are billions of dollars spent annually in court battling over who owns what ideas, assuming anyone on these boards has insight into who owns the 86 is foolish, as is arguing one way or the other.

What if I supply Five Guys with a secret sauce to make my burgers and stipulate that it cannot be used in any of their other products? If I employ cooks to aid in developing procedure and ingredients, are those designs not in some way mine?

This stuff is murky at best and I am no lawyer, but I am a glutton for punishment.

Dammit, now I want some Five Guys...
I just ate and now I'm getting hungry again. Guess I'll have to swing by there on the way home...

I just drove my old BMW today. It was traded back into the dealership, stock 135i. I drove it around the block just for nostalgia's sake and could not believe the difference in power.

I like my FRS for different reasons than I did for the 135i, but to call our cars "fast" is abit of a stretch. Quick? Yes. Fun to drive? Definitely. Good for track events? Absolutely. Slower than a Camry at a red light? Also true.

It's fast in twists/turns/corners all that bendy goodness roads. I hope you're not calling it fast for 'normal' roads, unless you consider 80% of the cars on the road fast too.

I think it's the manner of which it gathers speed.

It's pretty deceptive in the way it delivers power, IMO.

My previous car had a 4.0L V8 pushing 300hp and 310ft-lbs. It delivered power in a surging wave--and yes, I do miss the twist and the urgent surge of power--but I have no want for power in the FR-S.

A tesla is nearly a super car. Even with turbo, you might have a hard time beating one.
If it was a Model S, it is a sub-13 second car off the lot and ranks up there with the 959 in 0-60.
