What gains would I be leaving on the table if I kept my stock mid-pipe?

Not that I am too worried about loudness... it will be really loud if I run a TOMEI EL + Overpipe + Test pipe + Non-Resonated Perrin 2.5" CBE...

I'm old... let's face it

Is it a track tune? I'm curious how the process went. Did he go to the track with you and tweak it or do you just send him logs?

It was all off the dyno. @csgmike already provided the base tune since my setup is similar to his and then he ran a few runs on the dyno to fine tune it for my car.

I'm now making 280hp and 212 tq. It's a conservative tune that errs on the safe side. Great tune for a DD AND track as Mike runs with this tune. His car is both a DD AND track car. It will automatically adjust timing when running higher octane gas like 100 octane at the track.

In our case, he will be at the track with us when we're experimenting.

Hi there, I had a couple questions. I've read through most of the thread so I apologize if my questions were answered and I just overlooked the answers.

As it is, I'm leaning towards the JR SC. From what I've read, their base tune will work with an an exhaust system that only consists of the CBE, and an overpipe/ front pipe. But would require a custom tune if you have aftermarket headers, am I correct?

The reason I asked was that I was going to installed a full exhaust (SpeedFactory Catted UEL, Nameless OP/DP, and Q300) first. My interpretation is I would need a tune?

The next question is, what if I just get the SC and have a CBE, what if I wanted to get headers later on. Would I need to get it retuned or how would that work?

Lastly, (I know I have lots of Qs) what's the base tune output anyway? BTW I'm looking at potentially getting the CARB variant or whichever is pretuned.

Thanks! Again, sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, just figured I'd see what your feedback is!

Yes and yes. Basic CBE won't need a re-tune if you get the CARB tune from JR. Add anything else and you'll will need a custom tune.

The CARB tune hp/tq numbers should be on the Jackson Racing website.

Hope that helps!

You are beating a dead horse. If you're doing full exhaust, don't waste time with the carb tune. Only do the carb tune if you're keeping stock header.

Yes! Thank you! So I take it getting the TIY kit would be best then. Well guess I better start looking into tuning then!
