I know the CARB tune is pretty good out of the box but I don't plan on having any CATs in my setup so I would like to know how a custom (remote) tune would work out for me from Delicious?
We have never done a AT JRSC tune, but our I am 99% positive our Speed Density map will work rather well on this setup, with no additional tuning needed. Literally should be a Flash and Go solution.

We do not really offer a custom remote tuning, or at least not worded that way. We offer our base file "Flash and Go", then offer a service where we can tweak on your tune for a small fee for each revision. Though I really feel there would be very little work required to dial in this setup.

To give an example, we have tuned about 15 Greddy Turbo Kits with our "Flash and Go" tune, and have not actually seen one of them in person. These kits are all over the world and the customers like the tunes a lot.

Cheers,

Thanks for all the answers @DeliciousTuning!

Your tune looks like a great option for those wanting a "plug n play" JRSC kit + aftermarket uncatted header (since the JR CARB tune doesn't work with aftermarket/uncatted headers), instead of having it towed or riskfully driven to a local tuner.

One more question though:
- Will your your tune pass smog?? (After I switch back to oem headers for smog day, of course).

I understand the JRSC is CARB approved in conjunction with the JR CARB tune...but all that really needed is the CARB sticker (and also the oem cats of course) to pass smog; because there is no way in hell that a smog station can even tell or even know what particular tune one is running, or if the tune is carb or not, or even how to check what a tune is.

As for actual tailpipe emmisions... tailpipe emmisions restrictions are set pretty high for all vehicles (vehicles actually emit only 1/3 of restrictions given to a vehicle iirc...giving people PLENTY of headroom, unless something is really messed up). Not to mention tunes actually make cars run cleaner and smoother if I'm not mistaken. So the only way to really not pass emmisions is that an emmisions part is broken or worn or missing, or if the car is royally old and messed up...or if it's a 600whp+ racecar lol.

Has anyone had any serious motor issues with this kit other then broken belts?

I have had no problems for 3000 miles. I think no JR kit has had broken belts to my knowledge.

Sniffer test is no longer being performed at the smog station. The OBD2 reader will read all the sensors and figure out if everything is working properly now. Your safest bet is to use the CARB tune during smog testing (not for another 5 years or so). The tune was designed to pass emissions with flying colors.

I don't believe there has even been a broken belt problem/issue with this kit...

And no series motor problems. I'm running strong still with plenty of hard miles on the kit and engine...

No broken belts that I'm aware of, and we'd be one of the first to know if that happened.

I just got an oil temp gauge and I have a question. In my first drive after the gauge installation, I drove 50 miles 30% highway/ 70% city mix and my temps never exceeded 190 F. During highway cruise (65-70 mph) my gauge was showing 175 F. During stop and go driving, the temps hovered between 180 F. and 190 F.

Am I gonna have to cardboard cover the oil cooler when cold weather comes around? I only redlined a couple times as it's not really practical during city driving.

Only mods on car are the JR CARB tune and JR oil cooler
3500 total miles on car, 400 miles with the JR kit
Factory Subaru oil (replaced original factory oil at 2000 miles)
Defi Red Racer Temp gauge
70 F. Ambient temp with low humidity and calm winds

Jackson Racing Supercharger Owners Thread

I rarely see 200 F during my spirited commutes to and from work. So cal 405 stop and go traffic I might see 212 F so I think your numbers are accurate.

One off thing I've noticed...

When I run my AC and the aux fan kicks on... My oil temp starts to drop. Is it possible the auc fan for the AC helps cool the oil???? Not sure....

Should you worry? ...not 100% sure... But I would think it's better to keep it around 200 F then get crazy hot!

Remember, your oil temp gauge only shows oil temps in one location. The oil is momentarily hotter in other places; you'll be okay. You won't see the temps drop much lower than that, as you're already at the theromostatic plate temperature threshold.

As for cold temps, the transmission oil cooler may/may not need to be covered, but the JRSC and its oil is OK down to either -40°F or -40°C?.
