ive been told that the car needs one no matter what. that the factory should have included it. its more like, if youre going to track the car you MUST get one. if not then you should get it anyway but if you dont, thats okay too.

I've read only amazingly positive things so far and am 100% sold on the JRSC if I go the SC route.

I was just curious and not trying to stir up any controversy - does anyone have buyers remorse? They can PM me if they'd prefer not to post in this thread.

The numbers I'm looking at the whole setup CARB approved, install, tax and possible future tuning, and OC are about 6-7k. That puts me at almost 36k territory which is a little tough to swallow.

Also let me know if you'd prefer I moved this question elsewhere.

Thanks!

You are free to ask questions. Everyone has a different perspective in terms of experience, performance, and reliability. Obviously we are here to help as much as time permits. Multiple viewpoints give others a better idea of what to expect. We have given people rides in our car on multiple occasions. Most people are pleasantly surprised.

I don't regret my purchase at all. Yes $6000 for the CARB kit, oil cooler, and catch cans is a lot, but I'm happier to have spent it on something that completely transforms the driving experience rather than dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars on worthless ricer mods and such.

I purchased my kit for my local shop back around March and had to wait for several weeks because the kit was selling so well and there was a short supply (they were waiting on ECUTEK I was told). My dealer spoke with Oscar over the phone and he said they have already sold a whole lot of these kits.

Of all the kits they have sold, there still hasn't been one reported problem with the kit. Not one. That's astonishing considering most of the people with the kit probably don't baby their cars either. I know I don't lol.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the JR CARB Ecutek is locked and cannot be tuned.

I talked to Oscar Jr for an hour today, what a treat. Between the long standing good reputation of their kits, year spent testing this kit, amazing customer service, no heat management or other issues (as far as I know and see from own experience) on track, good feedback from current owners and vendors/shops who install them, and the performance now that I have a proper tune...thumbs up for the vendor and the kit. Had an absolute blast at NJMP Lightning this past weekend.

If you ever make it to CA... Stop by their shop and ask for an expresso. Best ones around

Installed mine in June by Mike at CSG AND HAVE had no issues. Took mine on many spirited runs in the mountains and coastlines here in northern California and have been impressed by the performance. I'm tracking the car in the next few months as time will allow.

I've even surprised some turbo guys in terms of performance. I guess they had there own ideas about what supercharger performance was like.

Required? No. Recommended? Yes.

Why? Because, ask yourself. Why are you getting a supercharger? Because you want to go faster. Why are you considering (or already purchased) the Jackson Racing supercharger instead of the other options out there? Because it's proven, so far, to be the most reliable.

Getting the oil cooler helps insure that you have no issues.

Will you blow up your engine because you don't have an oil cooler? Absolutely not. However, if you're going for long spirited drives without an oil cooler, your engine will reduce power to preserve itself when the oil gets hot.

Are you saying if we get a Nespresso machine, we'll get more visiters too?

Although, I'd probably end up drinking it all myself...

Future tuning will invalidate your CARB approval.

The CARB ROM is probably locked, so the tuner won't be able to start with that, but you can definitely have the car retuned.

Do they actually match up the ECU version? I thought all you needed was the CARB approval stickers/serial#

They will hook up to OBD2 and put a sniffer in your tail pipe.

If you don't have a CARB tune (aka a tune that also takes into account emissions) with the OEM cats, you will not pass an inspection.
