After reading everything, seems like I'm just going to stick with getting a cat system and an overpipe for now, the front pipe can be something I do in the future.
Or you could buy my catted FP

I'm simply replacing my FP with another FP (also catted +OP).

I personally went with the Invidia N1 catback and the Invidia catless front pipe. Have had the exhaust for about a month and so far i love it. Only thing i will end up doing when i get UEL headers is probably get a resonated front pipe, since I've heard its pretty loud with a catless front pipe.

Why does SMOG matter? when it comes time for the SMOG check in 6 years they will only do a quick visual and plug in a device to check for codes and your done. The days of doing the sniffer is only applicable to 2000 MY cars and older.

Do it and worry about SMOG in 6 years! BTW the front pipe won't cause a CEL due to it not being monitored. Only the CAT in the header section has a O2 sensor that checked the performance of the CAT

It's already here. Check the SMOG Regulations, DYNO only applies to older cars now.
