TT-RS looks good to me, but it won't be light because Quattro. Base TT is lighter, but FWD makes like a fancy Mazdaspeed 3 without the room. Base with RWD would have been a total win. Why anyone would want a FWD coupe with no interior space I don't really understand but to each their own. Sigh.

Strongly considering a TTS for my wife's daily driver. FRS is getting a new replacement motor with built internals and she hasn't liked driving it since the ACT clutch was installed. Lots of misinformation in this fairly old thread.

Both TT and TTS come with Quattro standard. The TTS diff can move 100% of the power to the rear wheels in dynamic mode.

Curb weight for the TT is 3180 and the TTS is 3230

C&D recorded 0-60 in 4.2 with the 292hp TTS

The TTS motor shared with the Golf R has numerous improvements over the TT motor including the turbocharger, pistons and heads. Tuning firms are getting 350/350 with just ecu programing. Intake and downpipes yield even more.

I drove the new TTS at Thermal last month along side the BMW M2 and CLA45 AMG.

It was fine, but nothing really to write home about.

The steering wheel felt great, but the steering feel itself was quite numb, to be honest. Decent weight, but just not much feedback. The initial turn is really quick and made me think "oh wow, this is great", then I started getting the inevitable front end push mid-corner and was left wanting a bit more.

While I like the interior design, I felt like I couldn't get a seating position that was absolutely perfect. I felt like no matter what, I either didn't feel like I was in the right position, or I felt like my vision out of the vehicle was a bit obscured.

Transmission was pretty quick and responsive. I wasn't able to get it to stumble on itself when asking for a gear. Not as sharp as the DCT in the BMW, but still pretty good.

I don't think it's a bad car by any means, but it's not the car I would spend my 50-60k on.

VAG changed the driving position across the range with its newer generation of cars. Now you can set the seat much lower and the telescopic steering wheel can come out much farther from the dash.

For some reason I can no longer dial in the seating position properly and quickly. Not to mention that hoodline feels ridiculously higher than it ever was.

Audi TT RS-R Steps Closer To Supercar Territory With ABT's Special Edition

Quote:
With the 2017 Geneva Motor Show fast approaching, ABT Sportsline have come up with a limited edition of the Audi TT RS.

Baptized the TT RS-R, the German sports car will be produced in just 50 units, each of them having their 2.5-liter five-cylinder TFSI petrol engine massaged to deliver an impressive 500 PS (493 HP) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque.

This is a 100 PS (99 HP) and 120 Nm (89 lb-ft) of torque increase over the stock version of the TT RS, which was obtained by optimizing the motor management. ABT have yet to release any performance numbers, but their blue-blooded vehicle will likely slash something off the standard car's 3.7 second run 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Besides messing with its heart, the tuner updated the skin too, with a front spoiler, grille frame, side skirt add-ons with side blades, and a multi-part rear skirt, all made from carbon fiber. There's also a stainless steel exhaust system, with double tailpipe trims, alongside a set of 20-inch ABT Sport GR wheels, finished in glossy black, while rounding up the visual drama are the suspension springs and sports stabilizers, fitted on both axles.

As for the interior, it fell in the hands of ABT Individual to add a carbon coating to the side of the dashboard panel and seat panels.

In addition to the Audi TT RS-R, ABT will also have the SQ7, RS6+, an enhanced R8 and the Formula E racer, from ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport team, on display at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
