If you got the older EJ25D basically a Phase I DOHC, when the head gasket blew they leaked coolant internally causing problems. According to many who rebuilt these with the newer HGs, after a proper fix they last a long time. If you got a Phase II SOHC from around MY 2003+, they leaked externally and the repair is significantly cheaper, also you could actually get away with driving them as if nothing happened so long as there was coolant available.

As for Subaru reliability. Apart from that though...my Impreza only had two other common issues being the catalytic converter and the clock. Outside of that, my Impreza ran extremely well. Over its lifetime as my DD for 3 years its actually saved me money on car expenses(enough to save up for a twin), and amazingly it was significantly cheaper to keep than my sister's D17 powered Civic...which was very disappointing.

I dont know about S2000 but it is not practical enough for me....unless i spend money on a roll cage....even then, it wouldnt fit to haul grocery....beers, and friends. STI does it all too well.

BMW and Mercedes are copying EyeSight? I thought BMW/Merc already had similar tech using radar instead...
