Ahh that's a bummer. Our first one actually had the warped flange and flex pipe crack but the second one was perfect. Sorry to hear about your bad luck, but I've actually heard about some members being on their 4th/5th/even 6th sets with the same exact issues every single time (being the warped flanges). Hopefully they'll take care of you on the next set bud!

I can't believe it! 6th set!
Borla has a really good reputation for quality though doesn't it???
Chris B at Borla has been super helpful. Hopefully it comes back perfect like yours this time!

Yeah, now granted this was a long, long while ago (around a year ago, maybe 10 months) when all of this was going down, there were HUGE threads about it since many people pre-ordered these/bought them as soon as they came out, it was one of the first UEL headers to be released to the aftermarket scene so everyone jumped on it, many were disappointed due to the warped flanges. Some didn't care, I didn't mind about the warped flanges but the cracked flex pipe made this really tinny crackling sound that just made my ride sound terrible, but like I said the warranty replacement set was perfect. I hope you have the same luck I did and your next set arrives perfect; if the flanges are still warped, you can take it to a muffler shop. I've heard it would cost maybe 10-20 bucks and they can sand them down to perfection, it's better than having to continually replace them under warranty even though it doesn't cost you anything.

Good luck man!

Is there a reason why you guys are so faithful to borla and their headers? I know their exhausts are great but headers? There are so many choices out there.

That kit just has a really mean boxer rumble that the others tend to smooth out. Also noticed a lot of gain in the 2500-4000rpm range.
I even feel the difference in that range now that I am back to the stock headers. Even with the supercharger installed.
If I found one that gives the same feeling and sound, with better quality, I would go for it without hesitation.

Yeah this is true. That is a great thought. I may do that if there is a problem with the next replacement. Just worried about the flex tube going out on me again.
Appreciate it!

Thanks for the insight. I'm surprised that there aren't other alternatives that give that same kind of performance especially nameless or perrin. I hadn't considered headers as I wanted to stay carb legal but from what you're telling me I may have to reconsider. Do you have anything else installed after the header. Op or Fp?

Nameless and perrin both have good headers. They just don't have that mean aggressive boxer sound. They purr but don't bark. Do you know what I mean?
I have a Borla cat back. I was considering the Borla cat delete pipe, but it has me hesitant because of the quality control issues. Look up Borlas video with the UEL combo with that cat delete pipe and you'll see why.

Thanks man! Will be posting lots of videos on my channel for you and everyone else!
Thinking of switching to JDL UEL headers.

Loving the build so far! Keep those vids coming! Borla is sounding pretty amazing. How do you find it during highway cruising?

Yeah they sound amazing! They're out of commission for a little while because of the cracked flex pipe and the replacement header has a warped flange. But I will have it back in soon!

I've read a post or two from other members reporting the same thing about warped flanges. I wonder what is up with Borla's quality control...?

I have no clue. I don't know how that happens with such a big company that has a big reputation to uphold.
