It's louder but I am not sure its grandparent scaring loud more like a megaphoned miata horn.
I got the rear fog light/brake light from the wife as a birthday present and put that in. I really like it. I will say the iJDMToy setup while nice is not as well thought out as I would like. But it does the job well. Today's autocross showed me that the front sway bar is either to much or I need better tires and struts... I am going to start with better struts. Either way though the car is quite fun but now its time to get to work on the electronic boost controller and Flex Fuel.

Waste gate spring will be here Tuesday. However today they had the drag strip open so I went out and had fun.
Told @moto-mike the launch control is not working and we need to setup a race tune because of how he does his tunes in regards to the IAM. But when I got everything lining up I did a 13.8 @ 105mph. The drag strip here is at around 3000 feet above sea level do that's not too shabby for about 7psi and everything in the car at stock tire pressure. Looking forward to shooting for 14psi. So the new Waste Gate Spring showed up today. It says 11 Psi but apparently with the Boost Controller my first run it hit 18 Psi... wow was that fun.
According to the logs everything is fine but yeah I turned it back down and will slowly work my way up again. 12 - 14 Psi is the goal for now. I also found a vacuum line I need to secure... blew off and scared the hell out of me because it caused the car to die... lol. In other news went this all happened on the way to see Spider Man 2... I was a little distracted but I have to say I was said to see the character I liked turn into a bad guy... the rest of the movie... WTF is going on they went way off the path from anything I remember.... But alas I was distracted.

So lately things have seemed a little problematic while tuning.
We may have found the fuel limit but it's very slow getting answers. I have been sending quite a few logs but now I am seeing knock and timing pulled but can't get answers. The car seems to feel like it is hitting a wall and bouncing off it... quickly not like normal launch control. I really hope this is just a hiccup but I have not heard anything new yet after asking some more pointed questions to try and find the limit's on the amount of boost we can run right now. I went from being told everything was alright on 17-18psi until 6500 where it started to lean out to now being told that 12-13psi is maxing fuel which is very confusing. (The 17/18 run was the first run with the new spring and scared me as I mentioned before) It's hard to find the limit and where to put the boost controller when I don't get any answers to direct questions that would help me do so. I keep playing with what I can lowering boost but I don't seem to know what exactly I need to do.

Alright spoke with @moto-mike he says the DW's are the right setup for my goals although I was sad to hear I wouldn't be able to do another 18psi run... that was scary fun I would love to get a drag pass and dyno pass at that level like making it part of the race tune as a high boost level run we could do.... just to show off on the stock motor lol.
Either the Injectors and Fuel pump are supposed to be here Saturday and the AEM Failsafe he told me to get will be here Saturday as well. (I am hoping the vent gauge holder shows up as well, it says it will...) I would really like to pick up one of these from @PrimeMotoring but I cannot find it on their page or get an answer from their Facebook page about it. ![]() I have now asked @captain_jack if he can make me one. Looks like this weekend things should be back to normal! Thanks again to @moto-mike he is right over the phone is much easier than email I have a lot more concrete information on what I was unclear of and a few things I did not know. Still not sure what that shutter has been but we should have that solved this weekend it sounds like. I will be turning down the boost further for the time being. I have gotten so used to having to email that it's strange to be able to call a tuner and it not be an issue but I welcome it.

Looks like my AEM will be here tomorrow according to the tracking very nice! @captain_jack is helping me setup a pod in the cluster surround like I want so that's handled.
Tonight I took some more log's at a lower boost level for @moto-mike, I also did a log of just my 3rd gear pull for Virtual Dyno and entered my tire size correctly. This is how it looks with .78 Bar. (11.3 Psi) Not bad at all and we are still working on the tune, I am happy with that if it's close but I don't know how accurate I can believe such programs are.

Found the problem, either I overlooked this reading how everyone else did it or my car just had to be different.
I noticed while testing my new 700cc Injectors to ensure they sealed that my throttle body sounded like it was moving. There was an audible noise like it was going back and forth between slightly opened and closed. I decided to disconnect the Wideband and it went away, plugged it back in and it came back... cut the signal wire for the Wideband and it kept doing it.. cut the power wire and it stopped.... I have now completely rewired the AEM and only connected the singal wire to the Rear O2 harness. No more noises from the Throttle Body and everything appears to be working. I have the injectors in but after all that my back hates me so I am going to wait until tomorrow to install the new fuel pump and take it for a spin. But this goes to show do not power and ground the AEM through the rear O2. Or if you do don't ground it here maybe that is the issue... I didn't test that. Do the following and it will for sure not effect the TB; 1) AEM White Wire to Rear O2 Blue Wire (Signal) 2) AEM Brown Wire to Rear O2 White Wire (Ground for Signal Ref) Put the Red and Black AEM wires to a different power and ground or test your luck with using the Black 12v power in the Rear O2 and grounding the AEM Black wire to the chassis, it might work. Thanks Again to @moto-mike, I sure was frustrated and he understood it was at the car not him. Seems I can attract the strangest problems. Now it's time to push this setup further.

Alright it is time to turn up the boost and prepare for the dyno. I am looking at either Friday or Saturday here in Tucson or in Phoenix if I can make the trip.
I have asked @moto-mike to help me make sure we are ready for the increased boost for this event and he is right there jumping in with me, he has cautioned me but he wouldn't be a good business man or tuner if he didn't. After the dyno I will be doing a complete review on my experiences with Moto-East and @moto-mike along with the dyno results etc. A shorter version will be posted here as well obviously but lets just say I am really happy as are those who refereed me to @moto-mike. So far I am really excited the car does feel good, we seem to have ironed out most of the little hiccups now we are just doing final runs to be ready for the dyno! (That wideband one was a frustrating one) I think for a daily driver I will leave the boost around 12psi and when I really want to have a little more fun I will hit 16-17psi. I have not gotten the electronic boost controller added. At this point I have to choose between flex fuel or an electronic boost controller.... hard choice. Guess we shall see here.

Today on the dyno the best was 323whp. We had quite a few issues with boost and me leaving it in valet mode the first time lol.
We have a few theories but I did finally find a leak. 1st idea was a leak, tonight after we got home I did some more testing and got to .94bar and got the front intercooler connection to blow off so I would believe there was a leak there originally and when I checked visually I believe I only felt for the charge pipe connection's pipe to be fully into the coupler. Or it just wasn't bad enough yet. 2nd it's possible the car was in limp mod, on this I am not sure the traction control light that usually flashes when say you have it in VSS Sport only mode and it loses traction and flashes, that light was on steady. Before that I had held down both the Traction Control and VSS Sport to turn them off. Once I started moving on the dyno it turn off both of those lights and turned the traction lost light on solid. I am not sure if that means it went into to limp mode or not but I was not even seeing boost until 5000RPM (Normally it's 3500RPM) and could not get past .86bar I believe it was even with the MBC maxed and the night before I was turning it down because it was going over 1.2bar. I did turn the car off, turn it back on, remove the key etc but once the ABS and Traction light came on it would not turn off until the car was removed from the dyno... I just thought it was normal my Vette get's upset on the dyno as well. (ABS light, TCC off, etc) So either way bug's that I had hope we already worked out popped up, it happens... just wish it would have happened at a different time but at least now I feel better knowing what to correct and what to make sure doesn't happen again. Either way fun night for everything else. Apparently my tune back to Gas from E85 on the Vette went dis-cue on WOT over 4k... should have just left it on E85, I will be taking that out in the morning for a long tuning session because it was not right and the few things I tried just did not bring it back to where it needed to be AFR wise. There is something more wrong almost like the injector data is bad as it was only at 69% duty cycle but it was acting like it was running out of fuel.... but it's fine on E85 which requires more fuel.... Fun times, oh well things like this happen, nothing broke so that's always a plus! Night guys!
