Zen Motors would be my option over that way... or Mahdavi Motorsports.

Who are you talking with in Dallas? That's out my way so I'm curious.

This is just my own brief experience with Mahdavi, so take it for what it's worth.

A couple of my friends had experiences with them too and told me they do some very "head-scratching" things over there.. but I decided to take my car there anyway since they "seem" to know how to handle aftermarket-enhanced cars.

For reference, my experiences with them involved my '93 MR2 turbo, upgraded with a Greddy TD06 turbo and AEM engine management system (professionally installed).

Head-scratcher #1
I decided to take my MR2 in to get the tires rotated & balance. They advertised a pretty cheap cost, so I figured I'd try them out before getting them to do a bigger job. After about an hour of waiting, the car is ready. However, the head mechanic there (Sam) tells me (as I'm getting ready to pay) "you know your car has staggered wheels right?" Of course I knew that.. so he goes on to explain how they're NOT able to rotate the tires because the tires on the back are bigger and would NOT be appropriate to switch them to the front.

Besides the fact that I had places to go that day, he didn't charge me for "rotating" the tires so I didn't want to put his ego at risk by explaining to him HOW TO ROTATE TIRES on a car with staggered wheels.

Head-scratcher #2
A month or so after the non-tire-rotation experience, my RPM gauge stopped working. By then, I had a few other places in mind to take my car, but I wanted to see if the FIRST experience at Mahdavi's was a fluke, so I take my MR2 back to there to get them to look at what "might" be wrong.

I made an appointment on a Friday to drop my car off at noon and pick it up at 6pm. All I asked for was for them to look at the RPM guage problem and tell me what needs to be fixed. When I came back at 6pm, Sam told me that he "didn't see what I was talking about." That was the last thing I expected to hear, since all you have to do is start the car up, step on the gas, and "SEE" that the RPM's don't go up & down. I could understand if he told me he needed to analyze it more to find the cause of the problem.. but to say he "didn't see what I was talking about" just sounded kinda... un-mechanic. He said he'd have to "keep the car over the weekend to look at it some more." Needless to say, I took my car home and never went back.

They were never rude, pushy, or over-charged me.. just somewhat disingenuous and doing some "head-scratching" things. If anyone's had a different experience with them, feel free to share.

^ wow....that sucks. I've never taken my car there or had any interaction with them myself, but a couple friends swear by their work. But you're scenarios are interesting, to say the least.

I had the worst dream last night... I've been using my car as a DD since I got it in August - up and down 75 almost every day, downtown ATL etc. and have managed to keep her totally scratch and chip free. Well, in my dream I had a freaken HOLE on the rear fender. I could look into it and it was dark and as deep as a hole you could dig in the ground. Scared the shit out of me when I woke up. Sorry, had to get that off my chest and tell people who would understand. My gf would probably just think I'm over obsessing. Which I guess she already thinks lol

Girlfriends are just jealous... I think mine is... she doesnt understand why I want to baby the car... its cause the car is my mistress. And you have to take care of the mistress if you want her to stick around while you put up with your gf's bullshit! Lol...

Anyone driving from 85 to North druid hills West towards Lenox Mall be careful. There is a big pothole on the right on top of a small hill. Impossible to see at night and popped a tire after hitting it tonight. Thank goodness for spare.
