Brz navigation issues.

Last night I was driving and twice within a 5 minute period my head unit shut down while the car was still on, the screen still had some backlight but was definitely off.

It seemed like it happened when I hit a bump in the road, not a serious bump at all though.

Any ideas?

Sounds like something came loose back there.

How can I check? Or do I have to bring it in?

Just pop off the console plastics, unscrew the headunit and push all of the connections in on the back.

Remove trim panel around the head unit. Then with a 10mm socket (you'll need a 4" extension minimum), remove the 4 10mm bolts that hold the head unit brackets to the mount. Gently lift and pull the head unit out. Check to make sure all connections in the rear are firmly and securely in their sockets. Reverse steps.

Thank you guys, will have to do that this upcoming week. Do you think it might have anything to do with the cold? It was around 6 degrees last night and my car isn't really used to those temperatures and I've noticed the difference all around. Including taking a little extra "umph" to turn start first thing in the morning.

I doubt it's the cold. Usually if the LCD is going into safe mode, it would be right from start up. This case sounds like a loose connection to the headunit or inside the headunit.
