Thank you again

Yep.. I just labeled the folder incorrectly. It is indeed for a 6AT

It doesn't matter if RomRaider does or doesn't correct the checksum because it will corrected by OpenFlash Manager when the file is uploaded. The checksum doesn't match because the files were patched together externally using a hex editor instead of being modified and saved in RomRaider (so their checksum fix wasn't applied).

To see actual mapping changes use the compare function in RomRaider to show the list of maps that were modified. Then just compare the tables instead of each individual hex address which can be a bit overwhelming.

yeah that's what I did. There's a lot of differences in how you approached things. I guess I'll just have to flash and see how it feels.

holy crap, 1.55b feels amazing! Even right off idle the car feels better (from that additional 20 degrees of VVT exhaust?)

hey Shiv, I have the ZA1J900C ROM. when I flashed to Stage 1 (both v1.42 and v1.55b), afterwards the OFT info screen now indicates I have ZA1JA01C Calibration ID instead of the 900C. Is that normal? I think others who reflashed did not notice a change in Cal ID. @shiv@vishnu

Also, I was running 1.42 for a while and my Adv. Multiplier had dropped down to 0.52. Discussed with others in a different thread and they think the tune was too aggressive for the lousy 91 CA gas here. Thoughts on how well the 1.55b will address this? So far I have only been driving 1.55b for a few trips though and the Adv. Multiplier has dropped from 1.00 down to 0.78 now. Will keep an eye on things in the days to come.

Yes, you CAL ID will often change to A01 type regardless of what you started off with. This is normal and intentional.

And after you first flash your ECU, don't be surprised if you see some Adv Mult gymnastics on 91oct. Give it time and it will settle down. Usually a bit higher than the lowest value you saw during the initial learning process. This is completely understandable with CA 91oct fuel. And nothing to worry about. The only time I would take action on 91oct is if it dropped to 0-0.25 and just stayed there. That would suggest loading a less aggressive map would be in order. In CA, we are cursed with low octane fuel. But there are enough safety systems in place (in the ECU code) that keep things where they should be.

Cheers
shiv

really? you aren't concerned until it's sitting down at .25? Hmmmm....I guess I'm just more conservative than that.

It's ok to be conservative. But it's more important to understand what you are being conservative about. In this case, all the ECU is doing is scaling down your knock correction table so that you don't get as much proactive ignition advance.
