For anyone curious... The diameter of the CUSCO washer is about 1mm wider than the PERRIN. Or in other words, the diameter of the PERRIN shaft is 1mm LESS THAN the outer diameter of the CUSCO barrel part.

OEM shifter(with cusco part still on it) part on top of the, PERRIN 'stiffy' T part.

Lengthways view

CUSCO 'barrel' on top of the PERRIN 'stiffy'. The cusco is about 1-1.5mm wider than the shaft of the PERRIN.

PERRIN 'stiffy' T Part sitting in the rubber mount. This part sat much more snug than the OEM T part with CUSCO part.

The CUSCO/PERRIN hybrid installed. I noticed this felt very TIGHT. Eager to see how this setup goes compared to the WL KDT926 and the CUSCO shift kit.

Made a tiny start to the HKS Spec-L exhaust install...
How did you go with the hybrid?

I just gotta say.. the CUSCO/PERRIN hybrid... works.. and works DAMN well.
Maybe it might have been the HKS exhaust overpowering it.. but it definitely felt much better. Kinda like stock, but firmer and less noise.

Also, I forgot to torque down one of the 45deg angled nuts(with washer) on the cradle brace.. now I gotta order that washer(I'll prob get the pair to be safe) again.. and then jack the car up.. yet again :/

Oh well.. Lesson learn.. triple check your torque settings. Also.. the HKS exhaust is EXCELLENT. It's 5:46am and I haven't gone to bed yet. Work at midday, I'll write up and post some pics later.

Looking forward to your feedback on the hybrid mate. Do you know the diameter of the insulator by any chance as I want to combine whiteline with the perrin bushing?

You mean the shaft part of the Perrin? That shaft isn't an insulator, its a metallic piece. But if you are using it with the Whiteline KDT926, it should fit. The hole in the KDT926 is pretty big. Probably about 3mm wider either way of the PERRIN 'stiffy' shaft diameter.

HKS Spec-L Installed..

Got home 2:00am and started the changeover for the exhaust. The hardest part to this install is actually removing the muffler off the hangars. You need to shove a slotted screwdriver in between the hangar and slowly slide/pry it out. Use lots of WD40 too.

Stock exhaust removed..

Mid pipe install was a bit tricky when doing it with one person. Another set of hands would be good. I made do with a big bucket to hold/level off the other end while I bolted up the front part of this pipe. The I installed the single grommet holding the rear end.

Left Muffler..

Left Muffler installed..

As you can see from this pic, part of the exhaust almost crosses in front of the diff. So you might need a lower profile jack when you lower the car(or put the rear tyres on a piece of wood/brake rotors).

View of Left Muffler..

Right Muffler..

Right Muffler installed.

Bargain Bin @ Covs Parts Myaree :D

Since I lost my washers underneath the cradle brace under the shifter. I decided to head off to COVS parts in Myaree to buy some washers. Didn't really want to go into a big-box hardware store like Bunnings as I can't keep an eye on my baby..

While there I saw what was in their 'Bargain Bin'..

I asked how much they were and he said $7 for the 1/4in socket set, and $4.50 for the 1/4 socket handle. He said $10.60 all up for me including the washers.

These will come in very handy when removing the Aero panels underneath the car. Also I can store them in my hard pencil case with the other tools

It's funny, sometimes its the little bargains that make your day.

Great looking car!
Where would you recommend buying the trd kit? You seemed to have a few problems with your purchase being shipped on time?
Does the modellista and trd kit flow nicely together in real life? Looks great in pictures. Great taste.

I got my kit from Import Monster. I was hoping they would have sent it as soon as they had received it on their end. As I was already waiting over 6 weeks at that point in time.
They had even asked me what my SHIPPING address was so they could calculate freight.. I was a bit pissed off in that regard because:
1) I stated my address weeks before - so they can calculate the total amount.. and
2) I paid in FULL for both the product PLUS shipping.
So when he emailed me asking for shipping address PLUS payment, I was a little bit peeved. This added yet ANOTHER week to the delay.

The Modellista pods flow very nicely with the TRD Skirts. It's nice because you don't have to cut up the rear diffuser(if you want to go for TRD) - but if you go for the TRD back, you have to have dual exhausts to complete that 'look'.

I'm most probably looking to get rid of them though. After looking at this picture from a recent cruise..

I feel the back end doesn't look 'aggressive' enough. So I am looking for the Greddy RB diffuser.

It makes the rear end have a wider stance, and doesn't taper off vertically down the bottom like the Modellista pods do. Also, since I have my HKS Spec-L installed.. I've noticed that the extremity of the tip actually goes past the stock rear bumper(which is defectable here) so If I get the RB Diffuser my car will be legal.. that's my reasoning
The Greddy Rocket Bunny diffuser adds another 60mm to the back of the bumper apparently.

I'll probably be hitting up @BPAuto if they have the diffuser ready NOW to ship. I got quoted $955 shipped to Perth, West Oz a month or two ago - and they had it in stock.
Hopefully they do. I like dealing with SUPER FAST vendors and I hate waiting.

EDIT: Hit up two vendors for parts, both have replied that they cannot sell the diffuser by itself

Oh ok, I want to do a hybrid between the KDT926 and the Perrin 'stiffy' so I hope it all goes well. Someone said that it might not fit properly as in I will have to make the KDT926 hole slightly bigger to accomodate the Perrin shaft. I will check tonight. If that is the case, than I will have to find the best possible way to make the hole larger. Any suggestions? I was thinking a very fine knife or hot hole puncher or something.

Mate go to http://www.japanparts.com/ select subaru BRZ as the car.

Direct Link:
http://www.japanparts.com/db/parts_d...&SEARCH_page=4

Cost $505 and shipping said $87 to Perth!

I was looking at get this myself (Still waiting for my Car ) if you do get it can you please show lots of pics of how it's fitted together as it says something needs to be cut, but I think one could design a work around.

Good Luck!!
