That would annoy me and make it worthless. I don't really need my ass warm lol

No heat for my back!?!?!?

From the picture of the button it does look to just show heat coming up from the seat cushion (Although I checked my friends BMW and his lumbar is heated and the picture on his button looks the same. Unfortunately his does have 3 separate light indicators for each part that gets heated [or maybe it 3 different temperature settings??]). It looks like there's only one light indicator for the BRZ's. Anyway I pray and hope the lumbar is heated as well!

Anyone with another Subaru that has heated seats know and confirm if their lumbar is heated in their Subie???

I must say though, after seeing the FRS in person, I would rather have a spoiler delete option (or at least be able to remove it easily) on the Limited.

If I were to get it, 2 grand for limited is defintely not worth it. Extra stuff just adds weight and complexity to a car that's supposed to epitomize simple ol-school sports cars. Plus auto-anything is a major turn-off.

Not sure if it's the same, but I have heated seats in an Outback and there was definitely heat from the lumbar area.

I love toys, so I went for the Limited...

And for anyone complaining about all the stuff adding weight...it's 14lbs...total. If that worries you, it's probably time to take a bit off yourself. The only thing that should matter is if paying $2,000 extra for more features and a little added 'luxury' is worth it to you. Based on the graph in the pre-order thread, the majority believe it is worth it.

Each to his own but as far as weight goes, the limited only ads 14 lbs. Thats a hair cut and a diet my man.

If you can save that $1.11/day for something that will give you more enjoyment, then don't. You guys in southern North America probably don't need/want heated seats or exterior mirrors, but up in northern North America, it's a very nice thing to have if the car is to be driven in the winter time.

Plus I look at it this way: to get those same features in an Audi A4 (comparing apples to oranges, but still), I'd have to spend:

Premium Plus package (xenon headlights with LED DRL's, Bluetooth, Homelink, iPod/aux cable, heated front seats, heated and auto-dimming exterior mirrors, three zone climate control, memory function for driver seat): $4,300
Advanced key: $550

So for $2,000 for all those features, it really seems more than reasonable!
To your first point $2,000 is still $2,000 no matter how you divide it up. I plan to pay the car off within 3 years (hopefully less). With interest that $2,000 will be a little more than $2,000 actually. Furthermore you are paying TAX on that $2,000, so it's even more still.

To your second point I agree that $2,000 is a good deal for all the extras in the Limited, if you want them. It's a pretty damn good deal.

For me though, I would be paying for things I don't want or need.
- Spoiler
- Fog lights
- Heated seats
- Auto dual climate control (I like the aesthetic of the limited better, but functional I just don't value it)
- Push button start

For me the $2,000+ would be only get me two things I actually want
- Leather/alcantara seats
- The nicer looking HVAC panel.

I was tempted to go limited just for those two things.

However, I thought to myself... I don't NEED everything, and that I would be happy with the Premium. If I can have 95% of what I want for less money, and I come out satisfied then that's good enough for me.

I also thought about what I could use the $2,000 for. Money towards a Rotrex SC kit or maybe cams, etc for an NA build or exhaust, wheels/tires, etc.

PS - As far as BRZ premium vs. FRS, it's close and a matter of personal choice
- HID headlamps. Not just the HID part, but also the aesthetic. To me the BRZ lamps look much nicer.
- BRZ front end. I know I am at odds with many others, but I prefer the simpler front end of the BRZ.
- Seats and interior. I prefer the BRZ cloth and the lack of red accents.
- Navigation. I don't need the highest tech, but I did want hands-free and navigation.

Long story short, I really think that all 3 models are good deal that appeal to slightly different customers.

Ironically, people talking about resale haven't figured by the time this car will be sold used in high numbers, I'd bet most people wanting the FRS/BRZ would want it as a cheap fun car. Or a track rat.

In the short term, 2-3 years it might help having all of these options but right now the used car market is in some cases more expensive than buying new.

Plus, a lot of older electronic components have a chance to fail, not to mention those keyless entry fobs aren't cheap.

Again it's up to you and what you'd need and want. But I just don't think resale value is a good argument.

Personally it's not worth it to me because I just want the push button start and keyless entry.

In 3-4 years the Limited will probably be in the low $20,000s, but they will also have 30,000-50,000 miles on them. At that time I'd most likely buy a new FRS for a couple thousand more, because underneath it's the same car...

The heated seats and mirrors alone seal the deal for me. You guys in CA don't have that thing called winter that we have to deal with. Y'know, when shit looks like this:

I need to get out of New England...

Good to know! I highly doubt they would change it on a newer car and make it only butt warmers. :happy0180:

I agree. I would totally want the heated seats/mirrors if I lived back east.

I grew up in Buffalo, so I know :happy0180:

In, CA we are lucky in that regard. Not cold or hot. We are usually around 80 in the summer. My Spyder has not had AC for like 6 years and it has not bothered me except on a handful of days. First the Rotrex was installed where the AC was, second the v6 swap, I just didn't bother installing the AC.

My brother who was in the cars business for several years told me "there is a buyer for every car".
