So what can a stock engine with at transmission and full exhaust handle safely assuming the tune was done right?

In extremely simplified numbers...

Consensus seems to be around 300-350 crank hp or 240-280 wheel hp, all the 50 state emissions legal kits and tunes are at the bottom end of that at ~240-250whp claiming ~300 crank hp and I have not seen any of those blow up yet. I think some feel comfortable pushing ~300 whp but that is kind of the current edge imo and I think you get into clutch and potentially driveshaft issues at that point.

I would not mind being contradicted, I need to know more, personally a 50% increase in power for a couple thousand bucks and I don't have to worry about legality is a goddamn bargain.

That's what I was thinking, not that I'm a guru or anything, but just reading the dozens and dozens of threads here....that seems to be the point past which people start to have problems, whether temp related or a nice big ventilation hole in the block.

Three weeks ago I had the motor shut off which idling. It sounded pretty rough just before dying and two cranks killed the battery. The car is now sitting at home after SoA denied warranty citing a drop of oil on the drain plug (literally a a drop the size of a small pea accumulated on the bottom of the drain plug). It sounds like a spun bearing. We can confirm when the block gets torn down.

NA 2013 BRZ with Openflash Header and Tune. No other mods. 38k

Openflash OTS. It doesn't appear to be tune related. SoA cleared the modifications from being the reason of failure. They are not denying warranty claim on that issue.

To expand. The dealership says they put 4 quarts of oil. Oil was checked less than 3 days before the incident.

That sucks man. Fuck it, build up your block and get a proper tune by Church Performance. Hope everything works out man. I know the struggle lol. I'm on my 2nd built block. Engine blew from overboost in December, head gasket repair on my built block in May, then spun a rod bearing in June which made me get my second built block lol. Sucks balls! $25k in 7 months on engine bullshit alone.

Wait you only had 1 drop left in the oil pan? Or there was one drop visible on the outside of the oil pan?

No, Subaru told me they were denying for maintenance errors due to a leak. The leak was one drop on the drain plug. Oil showed on the stick when it was pulled on the side of the road.

You say you have a NA 2013 BRZ and you posted that you blew your stock BOOSTED motor? If you're NA, you're NOT boosted...
