For those installing larger tires

Even though it has not been warm, the increase in traction is huge. Hard to explain but the car actually feels like it is glued to the road. Cornering has taken on a whole new meaning. I think the perrin crank pulley is my next purchase to increase the response a little to make up for the added traction and weight of the new tires. That tune that CBR600R is getting will be a big help. Sadly for me, that has to wait until next spring.

Yeah, as much as I wanted to wait until my springs are on this weekend I will mount my wheels/tires on tonight and get a feel for the new combo before the springs add another variable.

Mike, when are you getting yours on?

Who else will be sporting new shoes this year?

I have Motegi MR125 in the mail right now (17x7.5 +42 16.3lbs) I wanted to go light as possible for as little $$$ as possible. With the extra width and offset these wheels should stick out about half an inch more than the stock wheels. I'd like more - but that meant more $$$ I might do a 5-10mm spacer in the future.

Stock rubber still though. I like the ease of breaking traction.

Quick pic with new wheels on.

New tires sure kick up alot of road dirt, didn't expect them to be this sticky in this cold weather. Road feel is very nice, actually feels softer over small bumps, but firm and sticky through corners. I don't notice any real difference in acceleration, but the 18" wheel/tire combo is a bit lighter than the OEM setup.
