Followed a black FRS (lic: BSZF 951) northbound on the 416 around 3-4pm on Saturday the 14th. You passed me in the left lane and gave a thumbs up as you went by.

It's the first time I encounter such a system since servicing the drum brakes on my Acura 1.6EL. So OK I can work with that and off comes the parking brake assembly pieces.

Once the parking brake hardware is removed I discover that I still can't get the long studs inserted because the heat shield is in the way (and actually form a housing for the parking brake shoes). So the obvious remedy is to remove the heat shield. A quick inspection shows that 4 bolts hold the heat shield sandwiched between the hub assembly and the knuckle. Upon reflection I conclude I may as well remove the hub rather than the heat shield. However the hub is also held in place with a large nut which has a "washer" crimped into a side slot to hold it in place rather than a castle nut and cotter pin. So my project is stalled until I can obtain a large enough socket to remove the nut and then work on extracting the OEM studs and installing the new ones with the hub off the car. Oh the joys of shade tree mechanics...

32mm socket is what you need.

I changed the wheel studs on PBrown's car last fall (8 of 20 were stripped by a local shop) and was pretty straightforward but I'm sure the length of the ARP studs changes that procedure a bit.

I'll probably change out all mine also since the OEM ones don't like the heat from the brakes. Will do them at same time as coilovers and diff/subframe bushings.

If I can help, let me know.

Yep, it's the length of the studs that complicates things a bit.

If you have a 32mm socket for the hub nut that would be a great help for sure.

I did it, as most of you know already, I took the car out of storage last night,
Un did all the work of storage.
Have you ever met someone as compulsive as I am? I feel like I may look like an idiot for most of my idiotic posts, but I am so happy to have the car out again, I missed the driving feel. The car is such a damn blast,
Booked myself to see Andre tomorrow after I deliver a couple cars to customers, do the full fluids, the shifting feels very stiff, but the car is smooth and still a blast, and easy as all hell to slide around..

Now is it just me, but the car feels peppier than i remember, is it my butt dyno? or the CAI I installed? - Im going back to a dry filter, I finally found a tuner who is going to do a E-tune for me so I don't have to buy something off the shelf..

Hope to be cruising with you guys soon, installing the catback either tonight or tomorrow

I figured the cold air had some play, but didnt think it would be that noticeable.
car was clean as it gets last night before taking it out, did not take long for it to be filthy again!

Paul, where you not talking about a new job recently? hoping for those holidays to kick in soon!

Anyone have some local driving twistie roads they recommend for fun?
And better, some roads they would recommend for data logging?

Why bother storing it if you're going to take it out while there's still salt on the roads?
