Widebody correct fitment
Sort of at an Impasse here.
Ordered Lux motion Widebody kit but cannot come to a decision for wheels. I'd like to have wide tires, as opposed to wide "wheels." I see lots of people running 10-11" wide wheels, but 265 tires. I'm looking to run 285 to 315 depending on what will fit under the widebody best and provide the best selection/value of tires. Does anyone have any ideas? The lux motion kit is +100mm front +120mm rear on clearance. Eventually I would like to go with air suspension and I'm not certain how much extra clearance of the suspension is required with that and a 1" drop. |

There's a calculator online, that suggested with stock suspension, you could fit 13 inch wide wheels in the back without rubbing, assuming the correct offsets, and stock ride height. I know it's not enough, but it's a place to start I suppose?

I used Rimsntires.com calculator. I got these figures, for wheels. I don't know how much further you could go towards the suspension before rubbing air suspension components. Maybe someone with Airrex or Air Lift could chime in?

You need to start with basic information first... such as what alignment, ride height, etc the car will be at.
Then figure out what width the body is going to be at over stock, and then lastly look at current fitment of wheels on stock body for context. It's hard to provide advice on tire/wheel sizing when you can run anywhere from zero to -3 camber and have a huge difference in fitment. -alex |
