It would be nice if dynos were more consistent....

What we need is several runways to do 4th gear pulls from 20mph to 90 or something similar.

Without everyone using the same dyno it is near impossible to give accurate comparisons dyno to dyno. Way to many variables to make it worth while.

I take every dyno read with a grain of salt. That said, the bulk of the dyno's read our cars around 160whp give or take a bit. If the OP said he hit 200whp on the dyno he used then I tend to believe him... and congrats to cracking the 200whp mark!!!

And we must always consider the fact that not every FA20 is the same. If two guys took their FRS/BRZ and installed the same mods and one dyno'ed 195whp and the other 205whp... what would that say? Nothing - just the one guy's engine responded better to the mods.

If we took 10 brand new FA20's and dyno'ed each one, all 10 would likely post similar but DIFFERENT numbers. We have to consider the the build tolerances and the break-in effects of each engine. There will always be +/-2or3% difference in the engine build itself.

And at least for me... and for those that believe that not everything is cut and dry scientific fact... the soul of each engine beats differently for the driver that drives it.

All that said, I tend to use the butt dyno. That is I know what MY car felt like stock... and now I KNOW what is feels like modded. Regardless what a dyno reads, my car is stronger and faster than when it was stock. I'd like to believe I'm sitting around 200whp if not more. My car runs good, really good... very happy with where I'm at power wise.

I wonder if you can hit 200whp with only a header, drop in filter, that power block and tuning.

Seeing how the header and runner are on separate ends/parts of the engine (exh and intake), it may be independent of each other and hp gains may be separate (versus lower combined gains of combined exh bits, since you can't really just "stack" the advertised/expected numbers, with say a catback +op + fp + header).

Seeing how the average stock whp is 160, and +20 each from the header and runner, is pretty darn close to 200whp mark.

Supposedly 200whp just tuned with E85. I don't have dyno numbers, but I can tell you it's a completely different animal.
