Almost any bowler will follow through that high, at least even with your head. It's fairly common and you won't look out of place.

So I'm planning on buying a new ball. The one I have now had a very small hook and I'm looking for something that has a heavy hook. Any suggestions on brands? Any brands to stay away from?

I can't say for sure as I don't have experience with it yet. But I am buying the Brunswick mastermind in a couple weeks. Supposed to have a nasty hook.

Used to bowl in leagues back in the day, highest average was around 210, left-handed, no hook, never could master it. I was all about power, but when I missed it was ugly.
These days, go maybe a couple times a year with the family and lucky to break 150! My favorite bowling game though is still duck pins, although its pretty hard to find them any more.
