I dont really care why or whats gonna happen, but why not put a switch inline? Then you could have it for shitty weather or whatever and turn it off when you feel necessary. Doesn't seem like it would be to hard to do.

either way, keep safe, and remember, haters make victories better

This. I put a switch on TC on my FJ; 2008 model didn't even offer a switch. How am I supposed to do dirt donuts with TC?!

Yup agree. I've said the same thing two or three times already.

Great, another wanna be racecar driver on the internet puts himself and others in harm way, gotta love car guys. Giving us great names since the late 40's!

Stop trying to show off, this forum has enough antithesis running around.

Don't even bother quoting me, i won't waste my time again after this.

Good stuff OP. We need to figure out a "full cut" system which approximates pulling this from inside cabin, instantaneously.

I'd love one for airbags too -- provided I had harnesses/cage/buckets.

Well now, I drove cars for lots of years before ABS (or any other nanny devices) were common on cars. Down dirt and gravel roads on half bald tires with drum brakes and ..... it was uphill both ways ....

I got along just fine; you really learn how to "drive" a car.

However, even though I still possess those skills, if were driving a car without ABS on a wet road and a car in front of me had ABS and slammed on its brakes ...... I figure that I would be hard pressed to get stopped in time.

So, this old boy is gonna leave that fuse in place ....

I'm still DDing my 1987 Toyota Camry. No aids, no airbags, no accidents, plenty of snow and ice. I've only had it since 1998 and only added 250,000 miles to it, so YMMV. If you buy quality stuff and take care of it, then it will last a long time.

The FRS is the first car I've driven with aids, so I agree with OP. I expect to feel the car begin to slide or rotate so that I can modulate/balance just below that, but just then the brake pedal starts shaking like its broken or something. Only then do I remember that it has ABS and that it is supposed to do that and I'm expected to mash down on the brake pedal without learning to drive properly.

But I'm also glad that other people's cars have ABS.

[edit] And I leave all the FRS aids on, its not like they're harmful. I just have to learn tomake them work for me. [/edit]

How do I become a race car driver?

Owning race cars?

Driving race cars?

Circuit, drifting, drag?

Because I've done it.

I don't confess to being the stig, but I like to think I can pedal.

Also I quoted you, so I could annoy you further.

You old guys with your "learn to drive properly" line are getting tiresome. Modern cars have abs, tc, and vsc. There are no cars left to "learn to drive properly" unless you buy a ragged out used car.

For those that want to turn off all the safeties, do a search for "pedal dance" in the track forum.

No need to install switches or pull fuses.

Do they put stupid in the water where you live?

You can pull the fuse in THIS car, which is what this thread is all about.

Not true, some aids can still activate while using pedal dance. ABS obvioulsy, but others as well.
