I highly recommend removing the airbags and seatbelts too. They are nothing but a crutch...

I agree with everything you've said, i prefer the car without the aids as well. But unlike you i know where to take my car to the limit and push it.

No matter how good you are you will make a mistake, i hope when you do it doesn't hurt someone else.

Don't be a sarcastical fuck stain. Seatbelts and airbags don't soften the driving experience, aids do. Seatbelts and airbags exist to slow the rapid deceleration of you in a crash. I would remove the airbags if I used a harness instead of the stock seatbelt.

They are not the same thing.

I agree with what you're getting at. And don't get me wrong, I'm not taking my car to the limit all day every day on the street like a lunatic.

You don't need to be near the limit before the aids chime in though. Like I said, I'd like it rigged up to a switch, even the current TRC button. I'd be quote happy with full on or full off switch, which routing the switch via the abs fuse, would be achieved.

I agree 100% with lessons at the track. Did that a long time ago in my mustang with no "nanny" buttons. Will do it again when I get my next car.

I hate abs personally.

Yeh if the TRC off was full off that would be good. I'm sure a custom setup to engage and disengage the ABS fuse wouldn't be too expensive or difficult though.

I'll finally get to have a play with my supercharger with no aids in 2 weeks im bloody excited!!!

It's not like diss7 is the only person out there who gets annoyed with AIDS.

It's a pretty common reaction to modern car technology. Thank god we can turn traction control all the way off in these cars, otherwise I prob wouldn't have bought one TBH.

If you're confused about this point of view, watch Top Gear. They also "get it."

I had the same SC a few months ago. I entered a drift event with it. It'll hold 3rd no worries now, I even tried a couple of 4th gear initiations, but I had to have the revs so high that it was too fast for the corner. I binned the sc as it couldn't withstand circuit beatings. It got to the point where it just got hotter and hotter, that was with the intercooler too. Could've tried a bigger exchanger but I decided to go another way.

Not true... I almost always do the 5sec TC hold to disable it... and every single time I take the corner exiting my house when it's wet (this is at 5-10MPH) the TC light flashes even though I disable it... its a fucking nuisance...

I started on a car without aids, and my next 2 cars had a simple 1 click completely off TC. not a single crash, and the only times I got close to having an accident was when the TC kicked while trying to merge with traffic killing all the power cause it won't even let a slight chirp happen.

There's plenty of decent cars that never made it to the states that you probably don't even know about.

Here's a list of the sportier cars I've owners since 1999. Pretty much all of which had more power, or less weight, or both; than the 86.

Toyota Starlet (kp60). These are rear wheel drive and about 700kg. Had at least 10 of these. I've used hacks as paddock cars. Had one with a 4age 20v as well that could go around my local track in 1:42 (quickest I've gotten my gt86 is 1:47.5 with semi slicks and big brakes
Toyota Starlet GT Turbo (ep82) x 2
Nissan Pulsar GTiR x 3. Had one that I modified in 2002 than ran a 11.7 1/4 mile; which was fast at the time.
Toyota Celica GT4 WRC (st205)
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 3
Nissan 180sx drift car
Nissan Silvia S14 PFL (bought a 1994 specially because it had no abs or hicas)
Nissan Silvia S15 - this had ABS, but I removed it
Subaru Impreza STI Version 6. This has ABS, but I cbf removing it.
Toyota AE86 x 3. One 4age 20v street. One 4age turbo that was stolen before I finished it. One that started as 3sge beams NA, that's now turbo and 400whp; I still have it.
I also had a Toyota KE20 with an sr20det.
I can find pictures / videos / time slips if I need to. Go to Mikes Toyota projects on Facebook, where I keep pics of my current toyota projects. There's also an other cars folder of some of the others.

None of those cars had aids. You might like to think they were shit, but I only wish they still made cars as awesome as cars were 10-15 years ago.
