Did my loan stuff tonight. Credit Union is on board. If I get a deal I'm taking the upgrade. If not, I'll wait. Simple as that.

it would probably be much cheaper to just turn the frs into the car you want. paying taxes on 27k twice while taking a hit on a brand new car. i love my limited and i think it was the right decision but if i had an frs, i wouldnt go through all the trouble to be where i am.

Some states give you a tax credit, so you only pay taxes on the difference between the trade-in amount and the new car price.

My HPFP has been fixed. Put about a 1,000 miles on it with no issues. Let me explain it this way. My payments will go up by about $60 a month. That's not too bad to me. Now here is a list and estimates of parts prices (no off brand crap). That doesn't include the labor and believe me I'm not a do it yourselfer.

Fog Lights $499
DRL $199
Spoiler $499
Navigation Unit $999
Keyless Entry System (Push button start) $599
HID's (Factory Headlights) $999
Heated Seats (Not sure but I'm sure expensive)
Dual Zone Climate Control

Once you factor in labor that's at least 5k or more. So to me if I want those features it's just easier to trade up.

Yep, that's how it is here.

As for the power increase? I'm sure when they or if they do that it will raise the price even more. Honestly I think the car is powered just fine. Whenever I need a reminder I get in my wifes Escape where it takes 10 seconds to get to 60 on a good day. Any more power and I would likely get myself into trouble. I don't remember the last time I gunned it anyway. I'm 34 and drive for the most part like an adult. Again, more power is just more temptation to lose that maturity. LOL!

Why not just wait another year and see if a refresh is coming around the corner?

I rather hang onto the FR-S for year (or two), then trade in for a more refined 2015 or 2016 model. Afterall, the platform is only bound to improve.

That's a good question. The honest answer is the next big thing is ALWAYS coming out. Where does one draw their line? You buy a new iphone knowing that the new one is coming out in a year. Not to mention there is zero guarantee what is coming out. I could wait two years only to be dissapointed. Or I could wait and buy a new Nissan that hasn't been announced yet. Who knows where I'll be in two years?

I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging because in no way am I Richie Rich but in two years I will have a chunk of the car paid off. If I want something different I will buy that. Just ask my wife. She will tell you all about my car purchases.

Trust me when I say if I don't negotiate one heck of a deal I will not do this. It has to make sense both financially and what my wants are.

Here are my reasons why I said that. It is slower than my phone, especially when searching for an address. I also don't like how you can't type anything in when moving. I don't find it real intuitive. If I read the users manual and gave it another chance I might change my mind.
I do love how it shows you what address number you are at and what is provided at upcoming interstate exits.

I think most if not all factory Navi units have the lock when the car is moving. It's a "safety" issue. I hate that too. But honestly do we really need another distraction while driving?

Contrary to what a lot of people are saying, I think trading your car in for the BRZ Limited is a good idea. Even if the Limited trade up cost more than upgrading your current FR-S, there's something to be said about it being done at the factory level. When I was considering the FR-S vs the BRZ, it was the BRZ Limited (Called a Sport Tech in Canada) options that pushed me over to the Subaru side. The dual climate control setup looks 100x better than the FR-S climate control, and the push button start is a nice feature to have once you've become used to it. The height adjustable HID's and Leather/Alcantara seats also look awesome.

As for the trade in, do some research. Find out what others are selling theirs for privately, and then expect about 10% less than that for a wholesale trade in. If you're willing to wait, you can always sell it privately before picking up a new one. Just make sure the extra few thousand is worth the hassle, especially if you're giving up a tax credit by selling privately. That few thousand may be much less than it seems.

^^This!

Factory HID's is really what sold me. I got tired of HID kits.

Push Button Start is great and the keyless is.

I don't care much for leather but I like it.

DRL's <3

a wannnng too XD

Well got a deal. The hardest part was convincing the wife. Will probably pick her up by Saturday. A brand new WRB BRZ Limited.
