For the record, the 800HP GTR felt slow, but the speeds that I saw were not slow...
You were a UCSD bus driver?!?!?! What year?

So... question. But first, info: My FRS has a custom exhaust setup. Gruppe-S UEL Uncatted headers, 2.5" OP, and then the front pipe Y's off into a dual exhaust controlled by an electronic valve, which comes back together just before the Greddy Supreme SP muffler. One side is a 2.5" straight pipe (loud side). The other side has a catalytic converter, pass-through mufflers and resonators (quiet side).

Now question: Since you say to not use catless pipes with the carb tune, obviously I cannot run my exhaust system with it. But if I were to get it custom tuned, if it's tuned for the loud side, would it not be usable with the quiet side? Or is the custom tune a little more lenient? I'd like to retain the full function of the exhaust, but I also don't want to run shitty half the time, you know? What are my options here? Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Angel

That depends on how precise your custom tune is. Why not use map switching to have a tune for both sides?

That would work, but I'd like an instant response with it then. As soon as I open the valve, the map changes to accommodate. I could be wrong, but as far as my knowledge goes, there isn't a way to swap maps that quickly, especially while driving.

I appreciate the response though. I'll look into it.

Ah, but there is with Ecutek, via the cruise control stalk. Pull it toward you and hold, and your tach will move to a number to indicate the map you're on. Press up or down to select a different map, and pull again to set.

Really now? That sounds like exactly what I'd need. They can be switched with the CC stalk, but can it be done while the car is running and moving?

Yup, anytime the ignition is on.

Would running a caTless EL be more efficient for this SC than a UEL? I'd like to keep my ceramic coated Gruppe-S but won't if a good EL would be a lot more efficient

Yes. When boosted, the UEL is meant for sound more so than "torque".
