So the engine is built internally? It makes sense.

pistons will lower comp, hg might be stock

confused is it a twin turbo or a hks supercharger?

Either way this is the build i would want! however its disappointing that you must rebuild the entire engine.

So for nearly $30k less than a Cayman R, you're getting a car that is better than a Cayman R (better looking too! )

Sounds good to me!!!
I'm with you on the looks. Porsches have great all around attributes; the weakest being its looks which are just "good." I love them but looks are the one thing keeping me from seeing them as dream cars. Technically perfect, visually decent.

Porsche aesthetic is acquired taste. There's an element of innate douchey-ness, I think. I love 'em, but I'm a douche!

this is great news indeed, dont care how expensive the kit is or the practicality of it, just good to see a tuner stick to the fa20 engine, im sure there will be quiet a few that will save up for this, i wonder how much the sequential transmission will cost? HKS

btw i also would prefer the 86 over the cayman r. just dont like the cayman looks.

Last I checked it was not running an FA20.

Be nice if they fixed the home page...lol

Damn, too bad it was raining. No way to really see the power output.

Those taillights are arguably worse than stock... Why can't someone just make red tails?

So, so true. I had a little crisis when they started the 991 in the showroom this morning. Even the newest 911 has a dirty cackle of an engine sound - love it!

The specs, for anyone who missed it:

Looks like a whole lotta race parts. I don't think too many of us are going to want to replace pistons and rods right out of the gate. I'd do headgaskets to lower compression enough to see maybe 300hp, but that's as far as I'd want to go. Still, I can't wait to see the GT Supercharger kit on sale!

HKS Sequential gearbox:

If you have an extra $15,000 burning a hole in your wallet.

HKS GT Supercharger. It's a centrifugal supercharger like a Rotrex. Looks like a turbo but uses a belt to drive the compressor rather than exhaust gases.
