It creates a void on top when you adjust the pedal lower.. So depending on how low you adjust it, you create more dead space on top. It also lessens the resistance you feel when you depress the clutch. This is due to the fact that some of the spring and internal resistance is already taken up some by the adjustment.
I tried various adjustments and ended up going back to the stock pedal height.
It took a few thousand miles on the car and myself to have it all come together and feel right. Be patient if you just got the car..

Ok interesting. I can understand now how the resistance is decreased by how you describe it. Still don't understand why there is a dead spot on top when it's adjusted. I'd rather have a dead spot on top than on bottom (if we're talking about the same thing, with stock setup the dead spot is on the bottom which is why the clutch engages late?)

Anyway, still sounds like something I'd prefer, I want the engagement to be straightaway, it suits my driving style.

Yea I've driven 2500 miles on my FRS. I really really like the car, it's smooth when cruising around and really fun when I wanna go faster. I wouldn't mind having the clutch stay as is, UNTIL I learned that it could be adjusted like this.

I agree on the "dead spot". The return springs has less tension near the maximum pedal return, sometimes when it's cold the pedals fails to completely return to its resting position (by a fraction of an inch). This affects the pedal only really, the clutch is still fully engaged at that point. I was annoyed by it at first but I like the new grab point now, not going to change it.

From my personal experience, after adjusting my clutch to catch earlier, it feels slightly lighter than before, but it was so light to begin with I barely notice the difference. I really hated the clutch before, but like it a lot now. Much easier to shift smoothly.

Best way to tell if you'll like it is to try it. It takes less than 5 min. to adjust. If you don't like it, adjust it back.

At first I would seemingly blip the throttle before launch because I wasn't aware of the high catch point. I learned how to drive manual on a 01 Corolla that I was driving for a couple of years. That one had an incredibly low catch point in comparison to the FRS. If I can't get use to the high catch point, I'll make the adjustment.

The adjustment now gives the clutch a degressive feel, so you can feel now where the disengagement point is when clutching in. Couldn't feel that at stock.

LOL, I ran a twin disc clutch in my drift car, most humans can't even get it out of 1st gear with out stalling, low engagement, with only 1/2 inch of play from initial engagement to full engagement.

Made for full throttle clutch kickin. FRS clutch is fine for DD

Anyways, Happy Holidays all
