I am going to need it for maps when I get my turbo. I think I will only run one map but if there is big differences between them I want it

Are you running a roll bar and 4/5 point belts? If not, why in the hell would you remove the airbag? Do you like the taste of steering wheel in an accident?

It's called taste. Like it or not, people are going to do what they want. Get over it.

Removing safety equipment is taste? How many insurance companies will insure a car that has had safety equipment removed?

How many insurance companies insure cars that don't have airbags? All of them. My dad drove an 85 Caddy without any airbags and was in a few accidents back in the day with no issues. Of course that car was a tank. I think airbags have profitable schemes associated with them. It's not always about your safety.

There's a big difference from an insurance perspective between a car that didn't come with an airbag and a brand new one that you removed an airbag from.

If you don't believe me, call a random insurance company and ask them if they'll insure a brand new car that you removed the airbag from and see what they say.

How do you keep cruise control with aftermarket steering wheel???

While I agree with you in concept, I believe people who disagree with a bag coming at them at 200mph have had exceptions made to disable their airbag. For awhile, there were even cars that you could manually disable the passenger airbag on (right from the dash). Of course, in the end, you may be right.
