Taking the car to the mall so the great unwashed public can put fingerprints all over it? They aren't going to let those peasants sit in it are they?

In all seriousness I'd take my car home to my driveway where it belongs and keep it there. Scion can get their own car for a PR event, not a customer's car. You bought it as is, now they wanna put it on display at a public event.

Meh, just me but again I'd pass.

Naw, all jokes aside I agree that I wouldn't want MY new car shown off to the masses. You're just asking for something to happen...

No, they aren't going to let the peasants sit in it. They are trying to arrange for another FR-S from corporate to be there also but we'll see. I'm ok with the marketing event... I'm chalking it up to being one of the first 86 to get the car.

My 16 year old daughter is quite interested in making a proper appearance at the car show. Concerns me a bit but she is rather an independent type. Thankfully she has no idea how to drive a stick so it's not even an option of her driving it. And the answer to "Dad, will you teach me to drive a manual with your brand new FR-S" is a clear and resounding "meh... no."

The autoshow I went to people were leaning their belts all up against the gray BRZ and dragging their rings across the spoiler, ect. They already locked the car up because someone ripped the seat. No way they are using my car. I didn't loose 2k driving a new car off a lot just to have it opened to the public.

If the dealer had serious customers that wanted to see the car I wouldn't mind bringing it by to let them have a look and sit in it or take them for a ride. Open forum is another story.

Glad to hear there's no open door policy.

She wants to make a proper appearance at the show eh? Hand her a claybar and tell her to get to work. :p

On the other hand at least she has an interest. I'm with you though, she's learning on a beater first.

Hmm... good point. I forwarded this to the guy organizing it with a "you guys are going to ensure the car is not damaged, correct?" If he can't guarentee it, I agree with you completely.

Dealer: we want to use the car you just paid for to promote out business. We want you to do this for free because we're really cool.

Me: I bet you do!

Mall event sounds like an accident waiting to happen (like was already said - belt/rings/etc) but I think it would be fun to have friends come over to the dealership and party while I take turns giving people a ride in my new 86. Generally speaking I truly loathe every facet of the dealership experience, so it would be nice to let them serve me cake. Party = cake after all.

The view from an outsider.

I can't believe any of you would even ponder bringing the car back after taking delivery for a public display...with nothing given by the dealership. You can bet your ass they took every chance getting every cent out of you(especially with Pure garbage Pricing), now it's your turn.

What if you wanted to drive across the state that weekend to break it in?
