Really? Only issues I heard were with fitting front mount turbos.

I have the robispec cooler, its pretty damn good so far, i don't track my car but i live in houston texas with 100%humidity and triple digit heats... Highest oil temp i've seen is 235 and highest coolant was 215. Normally stays right about 197 coolant 200ish flr the oil..

I've heard issues of people using straight water with a wetter i stead of coolant in the radiator and the wetter water combo ate the welds :-/

I'm running factor coolant and its great so far.

I talked to Robi himself as my robispec rad is toast too. Core is leaking bad. He says there have been a few that have started leaking. He says it is probably from a bad ground causing current in the coolant or something = electrolysis. I have only used Subaru super blue coolant in mine.

That would be plausible assuming the faulty ground happened after you swapped the cores out. Otherwise the same thing would have happened to the factory one.

@blackfireball5 Nice vent You'll have to trim the back of those. I started fitting the dual 3" vents and the rear shroud will hit your cooler

I have the FBM cooler behind my passenger fog light and have started along the path of an exhaust vent for it.

This is the first version of my fender liner exhaust vent. (it doesn't look ghetto in person). For anyone that is curious, fender liners are cheap as hell so trial and error won't cost a fortune.

It made a noticeable difference at the track. It took longer to heat up and the max heat was about 10-20f lower (maxing out at 260ish). The temp also drops about 30F on the cool down lap where as it would barely move before. I'm guessing that was due to heat soak. In the city, I find that temps are lower overall unless I'm stuck in traffic. If there is no air-flow you may as not even have an oil cooler. I'm thinking of installing a switch operated fan onto the oil cooler to help with this.

I would HIGHLY recommend putting in an exhaust vent to anyone that's running the cooler behind the passenger fog light.

Does anyone have that Japanese oil cooler that goes into the undertray under the rad?

that vent looks awesome. That is where my oil cooler is at currently as well (driver side, took out the washer bottle, cuz racecar!).

Just ordered the VIS AMS hood, lets see if that will be a quick fix to the coolant temp issue. Next step will be moving the rad to the front a bit, make a hole in the front bumper for more air flow.

Thanks. For the next one, I'm going to have 2 3" louvered vents side by side. I really want to install a fan as well, but that will probably be a project when it's stored for winter.

Has anyone had success in reducing temps overall with the Seibon vented hood?

im building a mock up setup tonight for a oil cooler location similar to the jdl picture I posted above. Im going to force air up to it.

My mock up will be from acrylic since I don't have a way to form and shape aluminum at my current location(sad face)

I'm very interested in what you think of the VIS AMS hood. I'm planning on getting the same hood in the future.

I was going back and forth with Seibon and this, but looks like the vents are much bigger which helps for traffic/slow moving heat venting. once I get going on highway speed, I don't have heat issues.

Also living in the PNW, rain guards are pretty important to me. I'll probably switch out to the OEM hood during the winter.

I need to paint match it too. the joys of having SWP.. lol not.

If I'm not mistaken, the VIS AMS hood has rain guards.

I think I'm going to stick mine on top of the intercooler like the picture you posted earlier.
