ceramic coated from FBM and wrapped with DEI titanium wrap. Its raining today but the next hot day ill take an engine bay ambient temp. I think its the extra oil.

I'm sorry, I didn't get pics personally. I'll see if the shop took some pics.

It's pretty straightforward though. With the front end off, you can see where the new holes for the lower posts can go, and there's some metal tabs that need to be ground down so the radiator can move forward, and that's about it.

After putting my FMIC last week, engine bay temp significantly increased. Does the BRZ have a smaller opening in the front cowl compared to the FRS?

Need advice regarding getting more flow in the front.. Take off Mustache? I don't think upgrading the radiator is going to help with flow in the front. Does the radiator shroud help with cooling? Or do I need to get like a Ings bumper or somethin.. I know APR makes one as well with a bigger opening.

A vented hood or maybe some ducting to funnel more air to the rad. Taking the mustache off won't help much because the crash beam is right behind it, that's what it covers up.

I installed a different crash bar that allows a LOT more air in after also cutting holes in the "moustache" with wire mesh.

You also have to deal with getting the engine bay heat OUT!

Vented hood is probably the best, but I plan to cut on my skidplate and install rubber strips that hang down, basically upside-down "Gurney Strips" to help pull air out from under the engine.

I'm going to paint the screens black so it's not as noticeable.

I personally don't like the moustache on the BRZ anyways, so I didn't have an issue with cutting the holes.

I think after I do my mods to the underside (cut the metal skidplate and add the rubber trip-strips), that the engine bay heat will be lowered when the car is moving. More air coming in, and more air going out.

Enjuku drift bar?

I will eventually install that crash bar. I might in the future do mustache holes too.

Yes, I got it from Enjuku. It's the Drift Armor crash bar. Nice piece and priced right.

My intercooler mounted right up with 2 holes and some short standoffs.

My AC also blows nice and cold because I believe there's more airflow getting to the condensor.

In the pics in this link, it shows the lower rubber grommet that the lower radiator mounting posts stick into.

You can drill the new holes in the forward part of the grommet, and gain a little clearance, or you can drill new holes well forward of the grommets in the frame and gain like 1.5'' to 2''.

The lower radiator hoses easily stretch. Using the Upper tabs, the upper radiator hoses have a hard time giving up any extra length, so a new hose might be needed.

There's also a couple of tabs on the frame that need to be ground down to allow the lower radiator forward. It's pretty straightforward stuff.

I wrapped my intake tube with that gold heat shield tape.

It made a difference for sure.

Before, eveything under the hood was too hot to touch. With the gold foil tape, even the area of the intake that is closest to the downpipe (maybe 1.2''to 2'' away) is cool enough to hold my hand on indefinitely.

I'm thinking of adding the gold tape to the top of the plastic manifold runners. Would there be any issue with having just the top of the intake manifold covered with the gold foil?
