I didn't have to sell it (and it was all done, just needing to be enjoyed) but it became an obvious decision. I'm sure other family guys can relate - no time plus a bit of domestic tension around dad's hobby.

I will keep some of the goodies (diffuser, CF driveshaft) in case I own another twin some day. The SC and exhaust are already sold. When I can find the time I will be having a selloff on the forum: suspension, wheels, radiator, battery, etc.

What next? I'd love a mid-engined thing. Like a Cayman or NSX. But I am spoiled for the reliability (zero breakdowns) and practicality of the BRZ with all that cargo space. Not to mention how easy it was to own, modify and then sell.

Backing up, I did everything wrong according to conventional wisdom. I bought it used, sight unseen from a guy in Texas I've never met. Never even drove one. And it had mods like springs, exhaust, intake and wheels. It all worked out great though. The love affair lasted 1.5yrs and 7000 miles. Here it is not long ago, at 12345mi:

more pics, some of the best local twisty roads are big climbs: Mt Lemmon, Kitt Peak and Mt Graham.

and Kitt Peak -- shorter, more remote and very little traffic. Love the highway number. My 'baby nap drive':

And Phoenix has awesome roads too. South Mtn is short and twisty, with a big view of the city:


And the best local road might be Highway 88. It a roller coaster with a lot of different challenges, slow and fast. It is really nice desert:

You can see the beautiful scenery next to the lake. There it soon turns to dirt and goes to 2 more lakes. So fuckit.. it's a Subaru:

Saving the best for last, the car & I had the pleasure of 2 trips to HWY 191. Formerly HWY 666 until it was renamed by rude, bigoted anti-Satanists , it kept the nickname of the "Devil's Highway".



This is easily my favorite road in AZ.. ridiculous for how many turns it has, it is non-stop for 120mi. People try to compare it to Tail of the Dragon or other famous twisty roads but it's really in its own league of quality and quantity. If you do it as an out and back you are carving corners for 5hrs!




And best of all there is almost no traffic. This guy was about the only one I saw out there:


Put this absolutely at the top of your bucket list for US roads!
