With the Chase Bays "FRS/BRZ" Harness ? It's supposed to retain stock functions. So you have no guages at all? I would expect ABS and powersteering not to work because they require a crank signal. But the others would work if the harness works correctly.

The chase bays I thought would run like stock thats why i bought it...no tach..no h2o..fuel works and speed work as its not ecu related...i give up the gauges n install a race pak but i have to run the power steering n dont know what to do now !

So if i ran the 2jz 2 wire crank sensor wires to the big plug of the brz going to the stock ecu..would ps n abs work ?

It's worth a shot, it depends on whether or not the signal is the same so that the ECU can understand it. If it works you can send me some thank you gifts haha!

They are 2 different signals. The 2j if memory servers me correct is based off of a 12 tooth crank trigger pick up, were as the fa20 is based off a 36 tooth again if memory is correct. It is actually a simple fix but machine work and some minor fab work and wiring would be required. Do to the missing tooth design of the crank triger wheel on the fa20 the ecu should be able to get engine speed with out the need of cam sensors (this is a theory I have not tested and basing it of sheer speculation). You will need to disable all other codes for cams and such. As for coolant temp, ect that is relativly easy as well. it is a basic thermo sensor, all you need to worry about is setting the management up to deal with the factory sensor (pretty easy with most management systems) or you will need to run dual coolant temp sensors (again still easy). The lack of a proper engine speed signal is what is making your abs / and eps / and other can based items not work. hope the helps point you in the right direction. The factory service manual has the ecu pin out voltage chart, use that to figure out your needed wiring.

Im also running a vvti 2jz which is a 36-2 crank sensor..but to many variables n the wiring is already too complicated..dont know really..im guessing ill switch to a mechanical steering rack from an s13 silvia

I just noticed your in bahrain, why not contact ekanoo to get you sorted. Also if you are using that crank trigger wheel some minor modification of it and rework of your ems settings may get you were you need to be. just a thought.

@rh9 it maybe possible that your wiring pin out is slightly different than the usdm harness chase bases their harness off of

I never ran power steering in the v8 setup because the front end gets so light under acceleration it actually feels safer without it lol

Or you can go with a S14 rack.

That's the same car. I'm shooting for deeps 9s as well. Guaranteed Ekanoo will be running sub 6.5 with that setup soon, if he hasn't already.
