To be honest, I did the glitch, but didn't really need it. The combination of the huge prizes and the log-in bonus gave me more money than I needed to buy and upgrade the (regular) cars that I want.

Just gave the FT-1 a try and I'm not so sure I'm a fan just yet. Like @PMok mentioned, its all under/oversteery in all the wrong places, plus to me, the throttle feels a little weird with the turbo. Just needs some getting used to I guess, but I'm slapping an adjustable suspension & diff on this thing the moment I win it to try to fix those problems.

makes me wonder, what the Polyphony guys do to model a new car like this when there is most likely no opportunity to actually drive the car to understand how it will handle. I guess the wondering is, do they actually try to input some "known" values like approximate weight and weight distribution, spring values, into the algorithm and say ok the car will roughly handle more or less like this other car we modeled with similar characteristics?

Or do they throw a new car up there with a 3D rendering, and slap the old Supra's power and handling model into it and call it good?

ok i really hate you guys right now.

I logged back into GT6 tonight and... you've all kicked my ass on the FT-1 Laguna Seca seasonal event. I thought I was pushing it pretty hard to get the gold trophy already, but now I'm ranked dead last amongst all my friends on GT6 haha. I just spent over an hour trying to improve it and it's just so frustrating, any little mistake and... disqualified.

Lol, I gotta fess-up, I could not handle the oversteer-on-boost throttle response on the FT-1 and had to resort to SRF-on. Hats off to you guys for getting such times with everything off tho

What's really frustrating me right now is the Scirocco time trial. Somehow I have the same bronze lap times for the VW with only weight reduction and with all the upgrades

Also, Ascari is a friggin ridiculous track. I couldn't even get a clean lap

more likely this with some hp targets given by toyota. toyota wouldnt give up too much information on this and since its just a concepts nothing is final in the drivetrain design. we haven't seen any mules on the road or at the ring yet that i know of.

Haha thats the thing about setting the first lap time, then your friends have a benchmark to measure against and once they beat that, then they can be satisfied. At least that's how I looked at it. I really like how they show you your friends lap times and lines, cool new feature.

No way thats the fun of the FT-1.. leave traction control off and see if you can handle it! Just think of it as improving your countersteering skills when driving the BRZ, but with a lot more power.

Haha, yes it was fun, but then I got tired of all you guy's lines zooming past me I know when I have been bested by a virtual machine when I'm yelling and cursing while my dog sits there and quietly judges me (I know she is)
Now, on to do battle in Ascari, I know I'll get a clean lap in eventually

yeah I am tempted to take a stock Supra, boost the power up to about the same PP level as the FT-1, and see if it handles pretty much the same way.

Yes seeing the lines is very cool, though it gets a little crowded seeing like 5 lines up ahead of you... ummm who do I follow? haha. It's actually very interesting, because the person who has the fastest lap time, often isn't the fastest through some of the corners... but somewhere they make up the time and come out on top. Crazy, guess it just means we all have room for improvement. But some of us more than others.

I haven't turned on skid force reduction but I have turned on TC... I am trying to learn though, I pay attention to the throttle indicator and see where it is cutting power to try and understand how far off the mark I am when I lay into the throttle on exits. I am starting to learn a bit with this car, it definitely seems to demand that you slow down properly and enter the turns at a reasonable speed, as opposed to my trying to scrub off excessive speed in the turns with late braking and violent wheel and throttle inputs.

I'm also peeved that the official registration period for some of the events is already over... like the Spa Francorchamps event in the R18, the event is still available but even though I was able to get the gold and edge ever so slightly past you, it will now forever say your registered lap is ahead of me... it ended last night at 19:00 just before I was doing them.
Guess I need to be more diligent about doing these events before they expire.

Nobody's expressed any interest in doing some online racing again yet? Perhaps we'll wait a few more weeks and see if people do more seasonals, earn some money, get the cars they want... then we can do an 86/BRZ cup kind of thing.

I'm interested in doing some online racing again! I was just waiting for you or @BigFatFlip to bring it up, plus I just started playing the game recently so I wanted to get used to it.

Let's do it! I'll probably be online tonight around 6pm if anyone else wants to play.

Whew, finally golded the x-bow event after a whole lunch hour of trying and tuning. I was making the time but could not manage a clean lap, so I could just taste it lol. My poor dog does not deserve the indirect verbal abuse.

I've noticed that, I usually keep the "lines" on for a couple of laps during my exploratory runs, but then turn it off since they get distracting. I didn't know the times had an "eligibility" period. Snooze you lose I guess j/k

I take it you're done with GTA? lol, I'm down for online racing, although I usually only play about an hour or so after 10pm and during lunch time once in a while (I try to save a few bucks and eat lunch back at home lol).

I simply followed your line for awhile and made sure that I was ahead of it.
