Took 1 hr 15 mins from inserting the disk, downloading/installing updates (including a PSN update) to play time, and right when the intro was done and I was about to type in my name, wife tells me she wants to go out for dinner...lol

Alright, worked my way through the novice and b class in the couple hours I had, first impressions:
-I don't get the intro -Why can't I just use the initial $30k to go straight to the BRZ? Why do I have to buy a stupid Fit? -Sound is still terrible (TBH, Forza 1 still had better sound design) -Car physics are wonderful! Can finally feel weight transfer (and see it on other cars), gives you a much better feel for the friction circle -Menu is much improved, a lot less waiting around for things to load -Brake upgrade? Yay! NOS? boo! -Gokarts are fun -Big Willow! -Spent the last 30 mins trying to get gold on the first coffee break mission (21.050 )

Matterhorn ftw. Sound is the least of my worries so I don't give a flying flip there, except tire squeal & engine rev. Those work great.
New physics are fantastic! Also, 15th anniversary pre-ordereds (if you didn't preorder, what's wrong with you?) comes with a GT86, so no need to buy (I bought anyway just b/c, though & hated being forced to drive a fit). Also, intro made about as much sense as the first ending to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Overall I love this game. The improved suspension physics really make this shine above all the rest. Nos is great for yucks & if you hate it, don't buy it. I'm so super jonesed about the brake kit. FINALLY! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

How did you get the scratch to buy that car already??! Thought you got the GameStop version not the $1M credit?
I played a little bit on Streets of Willow in the Fit, that looks to be a fun and challenging track I shall get to know better. Big Willow too. Was thrilled to see new tracks like Ascari, Brands Hatch, Goodwood and Mount Panorama, but was bummed to see there was no Sonoma again. I have some mixed feelings about the game so far… aside from new tracks and (some) new cars, it feels very much like GT5. Maybe it’s a sign of how great/advanced GT5 was, but GT6 doesn’t feel like it is dramatically different enough to warrant calling it v6 to me, at least not yet. Feels like GT5.5 to me so far. yes the suspension behavior/feel is better but feels like that could have just been a patch to GT5. Graphics aren't dramatically better. I like that they fixed the stupid shadow flaws that plagued GT5 (should have been fixed in 5 in the first place), but on tracks like Willow the lighting effects look... filtered or boosted. Seeing the light reflect off white surfaces on the cones and the track edges is just unrealistic, feels like I am watching Spielberg's Minority Report or the way JJ Abrams loves to put lens flare on everything. GT5 at least while driving shouldn't be that cinematic, just want a real-to-life driving experience. Now it feels like driving through a filtered Instagram lens. as for the intro movie... I'm not sure what deeper meaning you guys were looking for. As always it's just meant to get you pumped up about playing the game, starting with a cool song, showcasing some of the cars and racing action, and generally showing that the guys who made this game love cars in any form... even moon buggies. I watched it 2 times and will now happily turn it off from the options menu.

Okay now I think I know what you guys were talking about with the intro. The intro as it comes off the disc without updating the patch just has the basic action portion of the intro movie. I finished downloading the patch overnight, I just now watched the new intro. It looks like they tacked on that beginning section with the kids in school and all of the design stuff showing them working on the Corvette stingray. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a tie in to this documentary that will be shown soon, about Kaz Yamauchi and the GT franchise. To me it felt like they should've started off the video with Whitney Houston's "the greatest love of all" ... "I believe the children are our future..." Lol.
But hey, who else is happy that they got rid of that annoying song with the children singing in GT5 that was always playing in the on-track menus? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I really dislike all of the forced intro stuff. It's really turned me off to the game so far. HEY BUY THIS CAR AND RACE IT RIGHT MEOW. Why give me 30k credits and then force me into a purchase? That tutorial race was SUPER obnoxious as well with the constant pausing of the race to tell me crap I already knew. There needs to be either an option to skip that crap, or to see/read the GT5 saves/installs and say "Obviously you know what's up, go race cars." I also don't like that I can't race online yet. That's super dumb to lock that out.
Overall I just went and bought an FR-S and then used that to finish the novice races, but I dunno, it doesn't feel any different. The cars still sound like vacuum cleaners. I expected more improvements. Forced gates and microtransactions? This isn't the Gran Turismo I remember. Supposedly there is a big sound patch coming in January, but I doubt it'll change much. Also, COME THE EFF ON POLYPHONY, it's 2013, I'm glad you added "size up" wheels finally, but what about width and offset? You let me control every aspect of the suspension, gearing, etc, and you think I can't handle wheel width and offset? Time to step it up and add that already.

I'm glad I got the Gamestop version as it gives you a nice variety of cars right off the bat to try and plenty of unique paint chips. Glad you no longer lose the chips after using them to paint something.
The coffee break challenges are fun but frustrating! Like bizarro autox where you want to kill cones lol. Also enjoy the Goodwood festival events. I should focus on getting my A National license so I can play online, but of course I had to stop and buy a BRZ and 2 MR2s and tweak them a bit and play with photo mode ... Lots to do so I guess I'm happy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

So I have the FRS,86, and BRZ completely maxed out w/ oil changes. Apparently the FRS makes like 20-30 hp more than the other two..

I use a wheel as well for most if not all my GT gaming. I introduced my little nephews to the world of Gran Turismo today... the 7 year old worked the pedals while the 4 year old turned the wheel.
