Not even close. The USA outplayed them so hard with Syria and Iran that they are probably still walking funny.

Russia's influence is also getting hammered by the USA and Canada driving down the cost of natural gas. And the USA dealing with Iran to reduce oil prices. They too are over dependent on a single industry.

And Russia is siding more towards India than China, anyways. This is further crippling the Chinese extravagant fantasies of being taken seriously on the world stage, believing we don't see through their sham of a government.

International media had a different take on the Syrian chemical weapons deal. It was brokered by the Russky's (they supplied them in the first place), and it was Putin who had the influence in the deal not Obama.

What Russia sides with at the moment is not really relative, it is the future wakening of the "sleeping giant" that concerns me.
Russia is run by the ex KGB mafia and old anti china prejudices disappear when money is at stake.
Remember when the NVA and viet cong were co supplied by both Russia and China ? A lot of G.I.'s were killed by soviet AK 47's and SKS's.
