actually that's the problem
grammar shouldn't be taught in the first grade it should be taught in the later grades, along with introductory linguistics so that people not only understand the roots of their own language but that of others.

i disagree
i think structure, syntax, and word choice is very important.. but perfect capitalization is just generally unecessary and should only ever really be reserved for proper nouns, should they require it given the context

Don't forget who vs. whom.
![]() I personally capitalize, but I think it's mostly out of habit. It doesn't bother me if people don't either, because I understand that Microsoft Word automatically capitalizes words, so some people have just gotten used to not having to do it. |

I find it funny how sometimes autocorrect will misplace the "their" and "there" and "they're" as well.
I remember when I really messed up some ESL students when I said: "There's no time like the present to present the present." Or better yet: "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo." It's a legit sentence! I also believe that in math class, they should teach the fundamentals of how the decimal system works and then open their minds to other systems like binary, hexadecimal, etc. People just know 1+1 = 2. 1+2 = 3 and suddenly when it goes to 1+9 its a one followed by a zero! Same principle applies to Hex: 1+F = 10. Placements, rules, etc. People nowadays are just taught "this is what happens" as opposed to "why" and it severely irks me. Worst of all, I see this even on higher levels of professionals. Now I am ranting...
