2/20/14 @ Papaya Grill, San Ramon

What an entrance! A burst of comical phrases from about a dozen 86 enthusiasts welcoming the entrance of the [leading candidate] @finch1750 and his misses into this small, 20 person sitting, Filipino style eatery, is about as inviting as this community will be. Few more enthusiasts walked in, one even confidently asked "ft86club?", the room bursts out in agreement. The night continues on filled with talks, laughters, and smiles. What a great evening! We welcomed the 2 or so new faces as well as those that made the trek (one from the ~Benicia area). Thank you all for coming! All in all, we were ~16 people/cars.

I won't apologize for "throwing you guys out of restaurant" as I know how easy we can make employees of the establishment work overtime haha. I left them a tip to help compensate some of that OT work haha

As usual, we then found ourselves surrendering to the parking lot where the other half of the fun exists. The cars! Intimate groups gathered but I saw one familiar trait amongst them - heads kept turning towards the 86s! I bet y'all didn't see the passer-bys that sporadically pointed, gawked, and even counted our cars haha. Yes, San Ramon - your city has been invaded by aliens! I know everyone was focused on the very things that make this community great - tech talks, help, mods, and future mods. You're too shy ask online, come to a meet and ask in person.

My evening closed at 11:45...half of you guys were still there! What time did y'all leave???

Horrible picture but if I had to use panoramic view, just know we consumed a large area. Surprised we were even parked that close to each other haha

Edit: I do hope someone else took better pics outside. I don't rely on my iPhone to take great shots after 6pm.

yeah it was a pretty awesome turnout, so thanks to everyone who came out last night! What a pleasant surprise to see so many of you.

The last stragglers finally departed at around 1AM... I had to roll in the garage in neutral and tiptoe into the house to avoid waking anyone hahaha.

I took some photos, will hopefully have something useable and will post them up later!

Oh and that tocilog was pretty awesome. I have to say, it was very similar to a Viet dish that I have all the time.

I'm still recovering from that sisig (sluggish from all that yummy pork fatty goodness). Also, the chocolate covered polvoron just blew my mind. Awesome seeing everybody again and meeting new faces. Till next time!
