Congrats on the Bimmer. For that price, if it has decent miles I probably would have bought it as well. I've been debating the FR-S for about six months now, and still haven't come to a decision. It will be another month or two before I could afford it anyway. An S50'd E30 did catch my eye on CL the other day though...

And said $43k car does not have a telescoping steering wheel .

Although I've driven one and it's a frickin' blast.

I don't understand this at all. What do(for the most part) random people on the internet you've never met have to do with how much you enjoy a car?

I'm not at all fond of the prelude community, but I still love my old rustbucket when I head out to the hill country for some driving.

I understand this car is meant to be fun and all, but from what I've seen of the track tests it's not really ground breaking in any segment. Its quite slow accelerating considering basic model cars like a Camry or a Fusion would run with it no problem. Plus, on the skidpad, its not pulling impressive numbers like you would think it would, based upon all the hype over lightweight and low CoG.

Anyways, the only reason I could justify paying $25k+ for it, is if I thought the design was truly unique and out of the ordinary. Though, I can't really say that the appearance is that inspiring or that its cutting edge. Its bit dull, and within 5-10yrs it will surely look dated.
Very good Sadiq, now explain to the class how a slower car like the Miata can be considered a true Sports car while the Mustang/Gencoupe/Camaro are "only" muscle cars.

Better yet, tell us how a Lotus Elise sucks because of it's measly 170HP.

Better than that, please do tell us what horsepower is.

Still looking out for 06-08 Miatas. They're pretty refined and super fun to drive. Never owned a convertible before but seems like lots of fun.

i've been into this car since it's pre-concept days with those horrible renderings.

but at that time, everything was different. must say it's the economy that has driven me away from buying one of these, this year. perhaps i'll pick up a 2nd hand one later down the road.

as affordable as it may be, i don't think i'm going to dump my finances into an auto loan for such an impracticably-practical car. looks like an amazing car that'd be fun to drive. but i can't justify driving this car away from the dealer 26+ grand in the hole. in this day in age, needs certainly out-weigh wants. this is a no-brainer for me, and i'm sure it's the same for other folks.

I was thinking about buying a Lexus 200CT but couldn't justify cost to what I was looking for which the FRS/BRZ brings.

Well priced MR-S has tempted me. But it's dark green with tan interior and brown top.

I have the brz on preorder, but I'm scanning craigslist everyday for an impreza or legacy. If I find an excellent deal then I'll jump. My beater I'm currently driving isn't even freeway worthy and it's killing me...

A yellow, black top and interior one tempting me here too.

But it's overpriced and the pseudo-auto thingie it has.

But I see it every day on my way to work, so it tempts me anyway.
