For my situation, getting the FRS is my last resort if I can't find an AP1 S2000 that's:
1 - almost mint 2 - unmolested 3 - complete maintenance records 4 - responsibly owned by drivers who are nearing retirement or those simply deemed too old physically to handle a hot AP1 |

To be honest, I am afraid of getting disappointed with the GT86 because all the hype around it. I tried to convince myself to get a different car in the same price range with better practicality (GTI, Focus ST, RX8, BMW 3 series and others) I almost caved into buying a GTI, BUT no other car is more sex than the GT86! (In terms of looks and perceived performance). I've been following for years now, and it's becoming an addiction lol. I've dreamt about this car a few times, driving it at the top gear track achieving a lap time of 1:23 haha! Now all I need to do is sit in it and test drive it without getting disappointed

Sorry guys, I had to do it...I just couldn't pass up this opportunity. Found a mint Pontiac Aztek with the beastly 3.4 liter V6 (bigger is better, right?). It also has usable back seats, and the previous owner rigged it with a push button start. Read em' and weep guys, all that for only $18,000. I saved at least 8,000 over the FRS.

NICE. Now when you pull up to a stoplight next to an FRS you can show the kiddies with their anemic little ricer 2.0 what a taste of good old 'murikan torque can do :happy0180:

I was pulled over more in my 1993 Impreza L than I ever was in my 2001 Impreza 2.5RS (with scoops, wing, gold wheels). Who knew that slowing down would mean less run-ins with the law? The only time a cop ever mentioned my car was when I was pulled over in my MKV GTI. He was apparently somewhat impressed that I was doing 80mph by the end of the onramp onto a 65mph highway.

very tempted to get an audi TT quattro. I went past one today, white with black rims and spoiler. It was just too sexy. I can get my hands on a second hand one easily.

I pay 1% of MSRP per month for six months. I also have a vehicle allowance that covers more than half of that, so my payment is tiny. I also don't have to pay for maintenance because I hand it in before the first service interval! When I hand it in, I'll take the vehicle allowance towards the Subaru and have nearly the same monthly payment, except I'll own the car after 5 years They are nice, and lots of fun! I'm mad that they stopped offering a 6spd manual here, unless you get the super-rare TT RS. STaSIS USA just acquired a European tuning company and they'll be sharing technology; you could get the ECU tuned for short money and see some nice power gains over stock! Someone just traded a TT roadster 3.2 6spd, but it's a roadster, and I don't want the thirsty V6. If it were a 2.0T coupe 6spd, I'd be all over it!

I had a 2005 S4 for a few years. Before it had 50,000 miles I had to:
1) Have the window linkage rebuilt 2) Have an oil seal replaced 3) Have the steering rack replaced. The only one I will take responsibility for is the oil seal. I think I might have been a little too aggressive on a downshift one time too many times. My little 318i takes it like a champ though. All I can say about Audi...Get rid of it before the warranty is expired. (I actually just dropped off my wife's passat at the mechanic this morning in fact.) |
