Mtec people recommended me to use tape...and thats what i did, the shop didn't have to take the trans off...i was kinda hoping them doing it since I'm out of warranty and have the bad throwout? bad fork ?= crunch and noise at the end of depression of clutch....there's various threads about that... So that'll be in another not so far occasion. My shop is the best! Luck i guess!

Thanks for your answer!!! Happy

So I did the install of the shift spring over the weekend and just wanted to confirm that the feeling is correct.

it goes it gears quite smooth and quickly now, but i find pulling it out of gear is probably double the effort then before the springs. Is that how the shifter should now feel?

I'm only concerned since i didn't have a torque wrench that would fit up there, so i just tightened both bolts until they wouldn't budge. Is there a chance i may have over tightened and now bolts are compressing the springs to much?

I felt the same difference, paired with a short shifter giving less leverage, gear changes need to be much more direct. My torque wrench is also too big...😂

The only thing the shift springs do is give the shifter a stronger return to center. To get a torque wrench on it you need to get creative with extensions and u-joints.
