And clean the threads off, both on the bolt and on the transmission. A rag soaked in isopropyl alcohol will be fine. Just wipe both sides down as much as you can. Caked-on Loctite will completely stop you from getting it back in.

I just finished! Apparently I was turning the wrong way.. things change when youre on bottom... LOL
But overall it was easy! Cleaned off all the loctite and got it back in pretty easily. It's faced more down than you think! Anyways thanks for the quick replies!!

It is worth the $30! No joke it helps a lot. I used to have problems going from 1-2 and 2-3 but now its pretty much gone now. Good stuff!

Just put on my shifter springs, the install is simple but damn is it scary haha. I ended up dropping my transmission mount to get more clearance for a torque wrench but that 27mm gave me some issue. The way it went in, it actually looks cross threaded, canted towards the car's rear by like 1mm.

The springs make the shifting way heavier, it reduces grind by just forcing the lever into gear very hard, and shifting into neutral requires tons of strength. Shifting out of gear is very heavy, then very light as it seeks neutral, and then the lever almost accelerates ahead of your hand into the next gear. I dislike the heavy lever and the nonlinear feel, but like the slightly reduced grind. Overall I'd say they're neither better nor worse than stock, but maybe if I had a heavy gear knob they would feel nicer.

That doesn't sound right at all... I'd check your install. Mine require basically 0 effort to get into gear and back to neural

I attempted to install the MTEC shift springs yesterday in my car. Sadly after reading through a couple different threads, and watching the install video... being careful, scraping out the loctite with a pic, I still managed to cross thread the detent when trying to put it back in.

What's done is done... now i'm just not sure what to do to fix it. Any suggestions?

I had to use a deep 27mm and a standard in order to get it in and out okay. Getting the bolts out was cake, getting that 27mm back in was incredibly difficult. Make sure to clean the threads (on both ends), that is what made the difference for me.

And like everyone else has said, it's totally worth it.

Best case, you can buy a tap to straighten out the threads and then be super careful putting in back in. But at any rate, the safer play is probably to take it to a shop and prevent any further damage.

Unfortunately if you have crossthreaded it and can't get it back in the only solution I know of is to some how get a tap into that hole and see if you can clean the threads up. That almost certainly will require removing the transmission to get access to the hole. The few times I've heard of it happening required a new transmission casing to get it fixed, which is expensive but not as expensive as you might imagine.

After cross threading it I stopped... didn't want to make things any worse. Brought it to a shop this morning and there going to drop the trans and tap it. That being said, i'm also going to have them replace the clutch (with an ACT kit) and install Perrin trans and shifter bushings. So what I thought was going to be a simple/quick $30 upgrade has turned into a much bigger project... oh well.

Look at the bright side, you were able to get some upgrades done at the same time as repairing the issue instead of dropping the transmission just to fix the mistake.

I just figured that if i'm going to pay to have the trans dropped, might as well make the best of it!

How did you take it to the shop?? What did you use to seal temporary the hole of the stripped thread? I cant get my car in a tow truck in my apt building...i need to take the car to the street because parking lot is very uncomfortable.
Thanks god i'm getting late payments from my work this coming week.

Thanks!!!
