I personally think Mad torque down low is very useless, unless you can extract every bit out of it without losing traction, like a GT-R. Otherwise, Diesel, or whatever = useless, unless to Tow stuff

From the Levorg, which appears to be 90% of the WRX interior.

From the WRX.

Ok so I actually kind of like it. It sucks compared to the concept obviously but there are only a couple angles I legitimately dislike on this car.

Now... Picturing it with wheels that aren't ugly, lowered a tad, with a nice rear diffuser and lip kit to tie the whole thing together. I could see it looking REALLY good.

its still not as much a looker as our cars. the fr-s/brz will always turn heads on looks alone, but the overall package of the new wrx really makes me want to get one in a year or so. it no longer looks like a riced up corolla, the front end is very nice compared to the outgoing model. i like that they made it more boxy and not as round as the last few. the rear leaves something to be desired, but the steering wheel, digital boost gauge, infotainment, really add to the appeal. its almost like they literally listened to everyones input on what they hated, and loved. yes its not the highest quality interior but neither is the fr-s. i'm very curious to see how the cvt performs. i think if they add a hatch in a year or so, i will definitely try and get one for my drums. other than that, its in the highly considered list for me. i love my fr-s but i think the small dimensions are causing me cabin fever, get it, cabin, like a cabin of a car!?

I like the 2.0L turbo making the same power as the previous gen. 6-speed tranny is also a nice change. Interior got a much-needed upgrade. Exterior looks aggressive from the front but very boring from the back. Car is begging to be lowered an inch or two.

Since they didn't show anything about the STi yet I'm hopeful it's going to add more body changes than just a large rear wing...but I kinda doubt they'll do that. It needs more than a different wing to make it look good.

Also, I miss the hatchback.

Definitely like this upcoming version more than the previous. I feel like everyone is judging really hard before the car is even out...

One of the early reviews said it gained 62 pounds. But that might be the CVT...It certainly didn't drop 1-2 hundred.

While it might be the best performing WRX yet, I wouldn't hold that video as a good example. It is real easy to make any car look good at that angle.

.

I heard, large grain of salt here, it is the exact same drive train as the current STI.

During the presentation he says something along the lines of how the wheel was designed for the performance driver. It was exact quote as to why the BRZ doesn't have buttons on it?!

It looks like the lovechild of a Civic sedan and Volvo T60. Pretty ugly. Then again, WRXs have never been lookers.

I kind of hated it at first till I realized it kind of hearkens back to the early 90s sti's that had a passenger car on steroids look. I think it just needs a lip kit, some more low, and wheels to pull it off.

Now that we have some good pictures I think it's fine, but how they could drop the hatch is perplexing. VW may as well drop the hatch for the GTI, it's that relevant to the brand IMHO. I would not have purchased mine if it didn't come in a hatch (for my dogs).

I also agree with those that believe they should have pushed performance to the next level. They are in fact going the way of Honda, probably won't be too many years and they will drop the BRZ and ignore enthusiasts all together. We offer these companies entrance into the market and then they drop us on our heads when they can garner the attention of the less demanding masses.

Profit is to be made by doing nothing well, and having customers that are too dull to know the difference.

Hold onto your cars, change is coming. I'm going to go work on my E30 now...
