I understand some things about this, but why have something dragging on the ground... can't that ricochet off something and smack against the car?

its a tsurikawa, train handle in japan. back in the day in japan, enthusiasts used to steal them from the trains and hang them from their tow hooks to show how low their cars are compared to others . Im running this bosozoku era tsurikawa and victory pipe inspired by the era the AE86 came from .

Glad you asked though, most people who bash my car go with the classic "hows that white toe hook even functional with all that camber?!" without any knowledge of its japanese roots, nor how to spell "tow", plus the fact that its not even used to tow haha.
