Traction control was going off like crazy. ![]() New set of Tom's led tail lights. ![]() lights installed ![]() lights on ![]() Got it aligned to factory specs for now. It's not too low right now so I can jack it up or put it on the lift easier. Camber is set to zero. ![]() aligned ![]() ![]() getting the roof chopped off. Khamla at kustomzunltdinc.com was the only person in town willing to chop my roof off. lol He does amazing work! ![]() new carbon fiber roof replaced ![]() Khamla finishing up the roof. ![]() 2x2 weave looks amazing! I'm going to have it cleared later on. ![]() At my buddy Toni's paint shop Pro Auto & Collisions in garland. He's painted all my cars / bikes for the past 7 years or so. Great work at a reasonable price. ![]() Side vent's and hood vents being painted. ![]() painted csl trunk with carbon fiber fade ![]() Carbon hood painted ![]() Pearls matched up nicely ![]() side vents & hood vents finished. ![]() removing the old trunk ![]() This was easy. It took about 10 mins to take off. ![]() New trunk on. It fits pretty good. ![]() Hood is on. I had to widen the holes for the hood hinges to adjust the hood forward. It still bulges up a bit higher than the fender. I'll probably modify the hinges later. Pronto Mufflers in plano. ![]() Everything's pretty much in. ![]() So while the headlights are out... ![]() Lets bake them for dinner ![]() ![]() Got it all pulled apart. It was pretty easy. Set oven to 350, preheat, let it sit in for 5-8 mins and it should pull apart. ![]() some sanding.. ![]() More sanding to come.. ![]() Masking ![]() Sand the chrome as much as possible. Paint doesn't like to stick to it. ![]() Finished. You can do the flat black for the whole headlight and it'll cost only a dollar from home depot! ![]() assembly. I left the chrome piece because it goes in the back of the led strip because I wanted the light to stay bright. ![]() coming together. ![]() finished product. The lens needs to be cleaned. I added some rtv gasket sealant and it sealed up fine. ![]() checking the wiring. Everything's good. ![]() Looks blacked out from a far. ![]() Another shot of the lights. ![]() Got some exhaust from (http://www.topspeedauto.com) They're a local shop here in town that imports these. Retail is around 400 bucks. ![]() Weld quality is nice. ![]() Another shot of the welds ![]() They even sanded out the inside welds for better flow. ![]() resonator ![]() New hardware and gasket. ![]() On the race ramps ![]() Old vs New ![]() Installed in about 10 minutes. It was pretty simple. There's 4 x 14mm bolts holding it on with some 12mm nuts. Very straight forward. Use some WD-40 to loosen the rubber mounts and it will pop right out. ![]() 4.5" burnt tips ![]() Fitment was perfect! Exhaust isn't broken in yet. It was super quiet at first but after a drive it got louder. So far it's pretty mellow and not obnoxious. I'll upload more later... Last edited by h4nh; 11-12-2013 at 03:12 AM. |

My kit was running great for two days then all the sudden it was at zero boost. Felt like it was back at stock. It wasn't a boost leak.
![]() Found the problem to be the cotter pin that holds the acuator lever on was too small. It probably fell off or broke off. ![]() Drilled the hole with a bigger drill bit. ![]() ![]() Installed a bigger cotter pin. Hopefully it should hold up better now. Second issue was it was leaking oil behind the oil pump where the camshaft is. RTV sealant was used as directed in the instructions but it didn't hold up well. ![]() ![]() Pump removed with old sealant. ![]() All the pieces cleaned up and old sealant removed. ![]() New sealant to be used. This is what toyota uses from the factory. It sets in about 15 minutes so you don't have to wait 24hrs before it can be driven. ![]() The block side was cleaned off and new sealant applied. ![]() Final assembly. ![]() Done for now. ![]() Got these Forester turbo gaskets that will be installed soon. There's a minor leak but not that noticeable now. Hope this helps in case you guys run into issues. The car feels good now.. dyno tune next week! 12.19.13 Here's an update. I just picked up the race version of this exhaust for some spirited driving on weekends. The quiet version was nice because I can hear the blow off from the turbo better. However, this one is much louder and 2.5" piping made a significant difference for exhaust flow. It now has some backfire so I'll need to get it tuned. Yes, it does drone so I would not recommend if you daily it and have low tolerance to noise. I know you can pick up any type of similiar exhaust on ebay for about the same price but Top Speed has provided me with amazing service. A lot of the members on here have been asking what kind of hood I have and it is seibon. It fits like crap in real life. There's a huge gap by the fenders which is a manufactering defect. I contacted the vendor I purchased it from (evasive motorsports) and they wouldn't do anything. They even said seibon wouldn't do anything and offered me 5% off my next purchase (what a joke). ![]() Anyways, George at Top Speed took pictures of the hood and contacted Seibon directly. Hopefully they'll get my issue resolved. If not, at least they tried and I'll order a nicer quality hood from Japan. Here's the link to the race exhaust on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Scion-FRS-Su...148e18&vxp=mtr Anyways, I'll try to get a video together soon. Today was pretty windy so I don't think my camera picked up the sound very well. It really brought out the boxer rumble especially with my avo uel headers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Update for 01.28.14 ![]() Top Speed Auto in Addison ordered a new hood from Seibon for me since the previous one purchased from another vendor didn't fit properly. This one turned out nice! I'll be painting the car a different color so it's just exposed carbon for now. ![]() ![]() Just got these new Ohlins R&T suspension in today. My kw v3 & vorslag camber plates are for sale if anyone's interested. ![]() Installed Perrin 3" cold air intake last night. ![]() ![]() ![]() Finally got to fit my Ings bumper that's been sitting for a while. ![]() rear tires for new wheels that are coming ![]() Just placed my order for a set of MORR VS52 1 piece wheels. I'm getting these in 19x10 front & 19x12 rear ![]() Update. ![]() Installing ohlins. ![]() ![]() ![]() Before shot, with the kw v3's installed. ![]() Front installed. We adjusted it lower after. This was about stock height. ![]() Rear installed. ![]() My buddy doing the alignment. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After alignment. This is the max low it goes. ![]() The ride after was amazing! I have it 7 clicks from firmest and it does not make my head explode. It handles a lot better than the kw v3's. If you're looking for low ride height, I would not recommend these. ![]() Over pipe from Top Speed Auto. ![]() Cat-less front pipe from Top Speed Auto. Both fit 100% spot on. Quality is well worth the price of $179. I will be upgrading to 3" later but I wanted to see how the catless would work out. It smells from the outside but inside it's okay. It opened up the car a bit and I can definitely notice more power. ![]() No cats! Last edited by h4nh; 02-06-2014 at 12:13 AM. |

Love that carbon hood. Exactly what I've been wanted to do. Now I know what it'll look like and I thank you for it.

Noted. I will most likely go with Varis hood so I'm hoping to have a little better fitment.
